Chemically treated hair (relaxed/dyed/etc) is automatically high porosity as the integrity of the hair shaft has been compromised/weakened.

Depends on the color & type of dye. Black, semi-permanent dye absent ammonia is a depositing color- nothing stripped, only added. Now going from a natural dark color to blonde requires bleaching & is a different story.

@@vlogswithtee2097 That’s incorrect based off of your hair being chemically processed. Your natural hair might have been low porosity pre-relaxer.

You cannot and should not do porosity test on dirty hair. Also any relaxed or color treated hair is automatically high porosity because the chemical (relaxer or hair color) strips the cuticle, that’s why relaxer or color treated hair is so much more susceptible to damage

This has to be done on freshly clean hair. Try again after wash day and hair is completely air dried
