If you haven’t already, you should consider writing a book. With your knowledge and experience it’s a winning combination. Put a good intellectual property out there, promote it and make some passive income. I thoroughly enjoy the academic nature of your videos. The styling process is just cherry on the top. Once I realized I was low porosity the WHOLE game changed. Finally realized why co washing didn’t work for me, why a cold rinse after deep conditioning made my hair feel like straw etc. Learning my porosity literally helped me 1000x more than learning my hair type 😂

I can ABSOLUTELY attest to this!!! It took me about 3 or 4 years of constant trial and error before coming across a video that spoke of hair porosity (I didn't even know what that was at the time), and when I found out mine is low porosity, everything started making sense: the coconut oil 😖, the egg and Mayo treatments that would just sit on top of my hair, the PROTEIN OVERLOOOOOAAADDD 😭😭😭😭, the petroleum... I could go on 😂. But if there's one thing I've had to embrace through trial and error as well as finding out my hair porosity, it's PATIENCE! Taking the time to read through ingredients lists on EVERY products before purchasing, what to look out for (and either avoid or incorporate) and especially sitting under a dryer. It's been QUITE the journey, but I can really see the fruits of my labour after my second big chop in 2022 😊

I have low porosity hair and my natural hair looks a lot like this client's. This video taught me SO much. I learned about my own hair type and where the shininess comes from when it's straight. Now I understand that it's all about how the outer cuticles lie flat and that's what makes it reflect light and look like a mirror as you said. I really appreciate your videos because you point out the beauty of all hair types. Low porosity hair can be frustrating because it is on the drier side, and this is something I have always been a little insecure about, but now I see that the dryness has a scientific reason which also gives my hair its ability to shine. I have come to see how my hair type is unique and beautiful thanks to you and your content. Cannot emphasize how grateful I am! Thank you 💕

Mannn....I hollered when he said, "if Suzy wants to hold on to 9" of dead hair..." I love him! He keeps it so raw and honest! I just started going to a cosmetologist In the Austin, Tx area who reminds me so much of him. Very knowledgeable, honest, and raw. No nonsense, but understands she is a service provider and not a hair god. This video gave me life this AM. I love the way he respectfully keeps it 💯 on the KZbin natural hair influencers whom most are not licensed cosmetologists leading many into false hopes that the products, regimens, or methods they use will give the viewer the same result(s) without ever thinking about the important roles genetics and chemistry play in the result/outcome of a hairstyle! For years I held possessions of supervision, and I always instructed the employee to “submit” up under. To be subservient to the person that was in need and most often felt less than. To make them feel as if though they were in control and not us. Because the reality was that without them we wouldn’t have had a job.

And I do steer clear from any protein treatments. Am was trying to figure out if I am protein sensitive or have protein overload from years ago when I did a protein treatment on myself. My hair hadn't been the same since. But maybe I had a negative affect because I have low porosity and it just say on my hair like your saying.
