Good afternoon Mobylas, you have really made some very clever and creative tools and dollies for your sheet metal work. That door skin will look like a factory perfect piece of material. Thanks for the educational video and good luck.

The factory used a lot of lead especially on panel gaps. Smart ass.

Hi Andre, thank you for watching, i know, Porsche was one of the first that was verry keen on all the gap sizes. The car i am working on now, has lead on places you have never seen before though..... It is a all non originall car, with doors that do not belong to that car. Each car allways became his own set of doors, trunklid, and engine hood ! Marked with numbers that correspond with the frame number. A all original car never had "a lot of lead", but just enough, to make the gap exactly 3 to 4 mm...... ; )

@@mobylas Hi Thank you for your unexpected and welcome response. The people who know these cars well, are getting few and far between. I am aware the lead all over the door skin was not original. The lead on gaps are factory as you state. I was amazed that you took trouble to even remove the factory lead and replace with steel. I owned a 1958 356A Coupe (T2) and a 62 356 B cabrio. The 62 was a T6 with fender gas fill door, because RHD and final assembly here in South Africa. Quite rare, but sadly sold. Greetings and congratulations on workmanship. My 88 Carrera 3.2 G50 LHD is my garage queen.

great stuff. I didn't understand how did you used and positioned the sheet templet for the door skin gap. also what size of a tip do you use on the mini torch? I have the same torch but didn't succeed to weld with it properly 1mm cold rolled steel

Hi, thanks for watching, with the template i took the contour of the A-post, so i would know where to hammer on the door skin. The door skin had a to small gap in the middle. I use a 1mm tip, to weld 0,8 mm and 1 mm cold rolled steel. Beware of fake Little Torch, they have not so good tips as the original !! Look also at the presure from oxygene and the acetylene, they should be equal !

Excellent as usual, Sir. BTW, I´m still trying to get hold of that small welding torch set from Smiths..do you have a link for me? Also, I finally got those hammers from Armak. thanks for that tip. where in Germany are you located? You never know; I might just enroll for a 4day course... ;-) Another question: Are you going to the Techno Klassika in Essen?
