Great review... what I loved is that you are not one of those snobs that has never owned a Porsche but still thinks the 718 GTS is crap cause it doesn’t have a 6 cyl. I have owned 911’s and Macan’s and even a 356 roadster... and I just purchased a 2019 718 Boxster GTS, and I can tell you from experience, its not the same sound, but its twice the car the old GTS’s were. I have taken a lot of people for rides in it and not one of them said a word about the sound other than how good it sounded... and when I tell them its a 4 cylinder they think I am lying to them, and there really is no way to prove I am right since you can’t see the engine. I will certainly be putting an exhaust on it when I can find one that does something great with the sound. Lots of Porsche in history had 4 bangers and they were revered for their dynamics and nobody cared about the “sound”.... I am keeping this one for a long time. Additional point to be made is that with a tune and a few performance parts, you can hit 600 hp with this engine. Try anything you want on one of the NA 6 cylinders and you might get 50 more HP... but never the performance you can get out of a turbo 4....rant over. .lol.

The correct liter size is 2.5. I seemed to have confused it with 2.4. I do apologize for this. Hope the rest of the video was enjoyable :)

Got mine for a year tomorrow. Awesome Daily Driver with perfect power and handling balance. Also great on gas on long trips. I love my GTS.

Great video!! Just got mine in January. The engine has a deep growl, and grunts like a beast! What's not to like. The huge low end torque makes the car feel so jacked. Its a car you want to drive everyday, and misbehave!! Cheers :)

The front bumper is just the SportDesign front bumper in flat black. You can spec that on a non-GTS bumper in gloss black.

Even in the 70s they had launch control. It was called a whole shot converter. I had a stall converter on my 70 Cuda. it was quick. Nothing in its class could take it on the shorter runs. My uncle had a 67 stingray at the time with a 327...my cuda had a 340 , 3 speed auto. He refused to race. I guess he knew what would happen:))

As an owner of this exact car (but a manual transmission) for a year, I gotta say I love it. It’s the kind of car you like more over time - which is the opposite from every other sports car I’ve owned.

Damn, that's a HUGE sound downgrade. But honestly handling, speed, etc. i think it was the way to go. But the LC500 interior is for me FAR more drool-material.

I got a GTS in March and it is fantastic in every way. The engine is sound great and the torque is right now all the time. You have to be pretty picky to find anything not to like about this car.

I think the new flat 4 engine sounds great. A lot of so called "enthusiasts" love to bitch about things they can do nothing to change. I'm fortunate enough to have actually driven this car and I absolutely love it and, IF you can keep an open mind, the sound ceases to be an issue after a few minutes behind the wheel.

Hey man! Yes it does have the PASM Sport Suspension as one of the options. I think it was a $290 add on for the owner.

Just about everyone is recording the exhaust sound wrong, and misrepresenting the 718 outside driving sound. . That is not representative of what the car sounds like to anyone following it. My V8 RS5 would sound like shite from the same camera mounting position. I own both cars and they both sound nothing like any of these hind sound sucking recordings.
