Control arms(coffin arms) appear to need replacing too. Thrust bushing looked bad. Awesome deal for under £5K!

I like the bit where you said that some of the bolts didn't particularly want to come undone! Try doing it without access to air tools, cue expletives and looking for hammer/tube.... hope you do ims & rms while the gearbox is out.

Those boomerang shaped brace plates seem to be made of rust at the factory. Cheap to replace.

Great job, hope the box issues turn out to be no great surprise. Rubber bushes in that lower arm looked a bit suspect … or was it just road grime?

They'll be hammered. You need to replace them basically as often as tyres.

Powerflex all 4 arms and forget it about it. Ball joints should last.
