I drove a Carerra 4S at the Porsche Experience in LA and this totally brought back the exact feeling of using Launch Control. It’s intoxicating. You just want to do it over and over like wanting another hit of heroine I guess. And mine was just a 4S. I can’t imagine what the Turbo S is like. They had a Turbo and a GT3 (along with the lesser models) to choose from. I was trying to decide which car to drive. There was a guy there who said if I wasn’t experienced not to bother with the Turbo/GT 3. That they’re so crazy wild I’d be incapable of really enjoying them and that I’d really need some professional driving experience to truly know what they’re capable of. So I got my 90 minutes with the 4S and it was probably the most fun I’ve ever had. The car is as self aware as Skynet and with all the computerized handling management will save you from yourself if you try to do anything too stupid. Just thinking about it now I gotta go back.

This really is the ultimate in luxury sports car. It’s comfortable, luxurious with great tech it has insane performance and it just looks amazing there’s no compromises with the 911 turbo s. This would be a great 3 car collection: this, the Lambo urus and for my exotic a Ferrari sf90 stradale and I would be a happy content man

The rear engine, North of the rear axle has plenty to do with the unusually rapid 911 take-off that people talk about. As the tyres bite, the rear lowers and you get a nut-cracker effect where the body and the road are the levers, and the wheels, or ‘nut’ gets squeezed. That’s where the magic is. There is ALWAYS tyre slippage in any car on take-off, even when you can’t hear it. Only in a 911 the is much less, because it’s converted more into forward motion with the extra traction. That’s how 911’s do it with less power.

Tbh it’s really the gearbox that makes this car so good the first 3 gears are super fast making it sprint off the line. Obviously there is the car as a whole package which is perfect laid out for a launch with the engine at the rear planting the rear wheels down, but still super impressive.
