between GT7 and AC, Crew 2 sound more like a Flat plane Ferrari V8 more than a Flat plane Porsche V8 PC3 Exterior sound: sounds bad, unnaturally high pitch, it seems odd, the rpms on this car are weird in this game

Assetto wins for me, GT7 a really close 2nd mainly cos of the shifting texture; next update probably brings the fix for the gear ratios, aero and e-motors

I think all of them except for Forza Motorsport 7 really captured that distinct Flat Plane Crank Growl it really just depends on us viewers (or maybe listeners technically) which captured the essence better. I'm tied between Assetto Corsa, GT7 and Forza Horizon 5, Project Cars 3 sounds nice but a bit muffled in terms of how it was recorded and too high pitched, also the generic redline sound and shifting puts it off imo, The Crew 2 keeps up with the rest but it's missing some significant sound detail, Forza Motorsport 7 really doesn't sound like the Porsche MR6 V8 tbh... Still a great video and comparison, maybe the DR30 Skyline Silhouette next Moto? _wink wink_ ;)

What I'm more curious about with this comparison is how long the stock gear ratios are in GT7 (and NFS Heat, but that wasn't included in this comparison) compared to other games like Forza, PCARS and The Crew. Going off sites like Car and Driver shows that the ones in GT seem to line up with the actual specs sheet for the car IRL but once you get to around 300kmh in GT7, you're in 4th just about to shift up to 5th, whereas in most other games, you'd be shifting from 5th to 6th. I'm not sure if it's an issue on GT's end or if the other games got it wrong.

Pretty sure, considering each car that gets put in GT has to go through considerable field work before being put in game, and each car is meticulously worked on to be 1:1 with its real life counter part, compared to games like the crew that are just arcade games with little response to reality and Forza that does not spend as much time making their cars 1:1 w/ irl

It depends on the car tbh and I read something about a shift limiter or something like that , if you look at the HUD of the game and the throttle bar , every time you shift gears it has a red bar before engaging the next gear instead of just changing normally. That bar stays if you're using a controller or a wheel without shifter , if you use a shifter then everything sounds as how it should be. Dk why PD added that tbh

Assetto Corsa and Forza Horizon 5 are the winners in this sound comparison. GT7 sounds really good from the interior, not a fan of the exterior sound and the shifting sound though. Forza 7's Porsche 918 had a good sound way back before the April 2nd 2019 update, after that update they completely ruined the sound and that's why it sounds so terrible right now, either way it still sounded way better in Forza Motorsport 6. Project Cars 3 and The Crew 2 sound horrible.

FH5 wins on this one and Assetto Corsa at close second. FH5 may not hava all 600+ car with 100% accurate sounds but if they do, they sound amazing. And even though some are not very accurate the sound itself is amazing in all of them.

@@coach4050 No The Crew 2 gets last place because it has the worst driving physics of all the games shown here. Every other game the Porsche 918 Spyder drives like a dream(save for maybe GT7, but that’s because it’s an MR car in a game where MR cars suck dick), but in The Crew 2 it feels so terrible to drive due to the excessive body roll.
