Update: The day after the test drive I checked for leaks and found 2 pretty significant leaks that I'm not going to be able to ignore. There is a leak at the front of the trans, which is probably the torque converter seal, the pump seal or both. The other one is the pressure tube seal. The trans has to come out for $15 worth of seals. Can we even due this in the garage on jack stands? Guess we will find out!

It wasn't leaking much before because it was 2 liters low on fluid. Figured that out when I poured the used fluid back into the bottle. Who knows how many miles it drove like that? Explains the dark fluid though.

3:11 looks like the original Cosmoline protectant for shipping. Probably should have been removed upon original delivery.

It may look the same, but two things make me think the guy I bought the car from did it to hide leaks. It was very fresh and didn't really have any dirt on the outside of it, secondly it was conspicuously only present in the 3 places where things were leaking.

Thank you. Yes, fluid is pumped back into it from the transmission when the car is running. That is why you have to fill the transmission, then run the car a few seconds, and then top off the fluid again. Repeat until the fluid level is good with the car running.

I will be dropping the transaxle in the next couple months to replace a leaking torque converter/pump seal. The transmission mounts will definitely be covered in that video.

you put atf regular oil or syntec one,,,nice car you have to

I put in Liqui Moly Top Tech 1200, which is a full synthetic. Thank you! I really like the car a lot and I have barely even driven it.
