Porsche 928 Complete Engine Removal

My 1984 Porsche 928 S has a blown head gasket and has suffered catastrophic engine damage. This video consist of a detailed time lapse of removing the engine.

Very good question.I believe the previous owner over heated the engine. If there is enough interest, I may just pull that engine apart and film what I find

I deleted my car's air injection too. However, the air pump itself acts as the fan belt tensioner, so I removed the pump internals and replaced the bearings. That way I still had a tensioner but wasn't wasting energy (or money on some fancy after market solution)

Did the same thing to my 78..... Works great as a tensioner!..... Some people just use a shorter belt, and bypass the air pump, but then you have no adjustment to the belt.

Last i checked there were 6 bolts holding front clip in . Take off torque tube ,exhaust, wired plugs and hoses it is supposed to drop out the bottom . I think you just did that way harder than need be.

Ahh you do realize with the lift you just disconnect all the harnesses in unbolt body and lift you can access entire drivetrain..been done

I’m looking at an ‘86 928s which has low compression on one cylinder. From everything I've read, it seems unlikely that the engine would have a lower end issue (only 65k miles). Do you guys agree? If yes, can the heads be removed without pulling the engine?
