I just reinstalled my intake manifold yesterday. What was Porsche thinking mounting the ICV on the block, and then l,inking it to the intake manifold by a short little 'S' shaped hose that's nearly impossible to get to? If I do this again I'd figure out a way to mount the ICV to the intake, so the only connection you'd have to make after you bolt it to the head is to the J-boot. There's plenty of material in the webbing between the runners to mount a couple stand-offs with M6 hardware.

Thanks for the video, very helpful but I have a question, I have seen in many diagrams that the heat valve that is near the position sensor also use the vaccum line that is near the vacuum reservoir. So do this lateral version don't have a heat valve or you skipped it. I really enjoy your videos thanks for all the help.

Thanks! Yup I just missed it but I covered it in my turbo vacuum line video. That particular item is connected the same as the N/A respectively. I hope that helps!

Just sent off to Lindsey Racing for a vacuum kit for my 86 NA. Thank you so much for posting this! Is a venturi delete anything worth doing, do you think?

I usually don't bother on an N/A car since the vacuum lines are fairly simple without any benefit. That said, it can be worth doing on a turbo since it has a ton of hoses running everywhere that it helps clean up. Its up to you though. If you're buying the entire kit from Lindsay then venturi delete may be the way to go! Good Luck.

Any progress on the plan to also make a video using an 1985.5-1987 model?

I have an 88 but the manufacturer date is 87 and some of the things you have shown of the 88 don't match my 88. Also the VIN on the fire wall doesn't exactly match the VIN on the window. Fire wall has the 4 to 9 digits z z z z 9 for Z and the one on the window are a b 0 9 4 6 and the last 8 are JN471207

That's correct, the firewall stamp isn't the VIN number which can only be found on the plate in window. That said, this '88 model actually had an earlier engine swapped into it... which isn't the first time seeing this. I made sure to keep the vacuum lines correct but often people will just drop another engine in or something will break and you end up with mixed up parts. Although, I have an early production 924S that has several unique features that weren't on any other cars, so that its possible that your car is unique. Can you tell me about some of the differences?

Mine has the earlier vacuum brake booster port with the extra nipple for the vacuum that comes off the switch under the intake also the hose that comes from the air oil separator does not have an extra end leading to the intake other then that it seems all the rest is the same I am assuming at least. I need to remove the intake to replace some of the lines under it when time and some warmer weather permitting

Thanks, I'm not sure when they moved the check valve, but it is interesting that you don't have the hose going valve on the rear of the intake. Do you have a venturi? If you do then you may need to check the engine code, on '88 models it will be on the block next to the no. 4 exhaust header.

edredas no there is no Venturi and it has the correct cap for the block off. I just figured it was a transition car like some of the Ford's were when they go from one year to the next and have a mixture of previous and next year parts.
