Nice job. I've got the big black calipers on my 92 964 Turbo and they really need an overhaul like this.. I also have two snapped bleed screws to remove that I am not looking forward to. I'm thinking it may be better with them off the car! Nice to see how good a job can be made with painting it by hand - it has made me think about tackling it myself!

If you’ve got broken screws, it’s probably way easier to take the calipers off the car in the long run. I’m sure the painting is easier off the car too. I’d wait until you need a brake job and a brake fluid change and do it all at once.

Are those decals the OE sizes? Are the front and rear OE stickers the same size? I noticed the rear calipers are smaller than the fronts.
@beardedgarage2 жыл бұрын
I measured the decals on the original calipers and printed them. They probably could have been a little bit bigger, but they look pretty good on the car.

@@beardedgarage It sounds like they are the same size front and rear? How much for 6 of them shipped to 94547? Appreciate the time!
@beardedgarage2 жыл бұрын
@@93B18 Yes, these are the same F/R. I'd be happy to print them for ya. I can't find a way to PM here to get an address, but 6 to 94547 would be $20

I've a 1996 993 C2 iris blue metallic, 66,000 miles, 6-speed manny tranny, varioram. No CEL, no oil leaks (no really!). I'm never selling it!

My engine still isn't in. But where did you get the stickers? I need some for my '96 993.

The engine isn’t in? What’s happened? I made the stickers on my wife’s vinyl machine. Let me know if you need stickers or help on the car

@@beardedgarage Thanks B. Hot weather, had to go to Monterey for work etc. I have the engine under the car just need to push it up into the bay. I still don't have the vacuum hoses correct but I am going to go with the way I have them installed and try to start the motor. Yes I do need the front and rear stickers, I had my calipers powdercoated a year ago but no stickers. My calipers are Green like the car.

Does anyone know the part no for those parts that clip on the pistons?

I’m probably 14 years older and have a 14 year head start on my 993. I also have a beard and have done many of these projects! 😂

Sounds like we should grab a beer while working on cars!
@darbo238 ай бұрын
Clumsy damaging way demonstrated to compress the pistons, best to use a brake pad compressor. A compressor doesn’t damage the face of the calliper.
@beardedgarage8 ай бұрын
To each his own. I’ve done it with pliers, screw drivers, compressor, etc. as I said in the video, I’m sanding and painting the calipers so I didn’t care about the face of the caliper.

Sorry, but for the most part you used a bad camera angle. All I could see was the back of your arm. I had to stop watching at around 6 minutes. Just trying to help for your future videos.
