Steering wheel removal socket: 12mm XZN Triple Square Spline socket.
But T55 will do the job just fine, or at least it worked perfectly for me!
To re torque steering wheel nut: 37ft lb of torque.

Hello! my 2005 boxster and change it to 997.2 as the same styles with your, but my horn doesn't work, and i'm check the wiring of the horn in the steering wheel is diffrent with the old one , how can you slove the problem ?Thanks

Hi, I didn’t realise at the time when I was making this video but I have the exact same problem. My horn doesn’t work as well. However I didn’t have time to look in to it yet. Although I’m not very active on this channel anymore as I’m busy with other stuff, if I figure it out how to fix the problem I will give you an update. Sorry I couldn’t be more helpful.

Hello, the horn problem solved, the 987/997 Gen 2 steering wheel horn switch is using a magnetic sensing unit, (the Gen 1 type is a traditional mechanic switch), so the magnetic sensing unit need a voltage to operation, i'm used the Foxwell NT 510 to re programm the steering column to mutifuntion type , the slip ring will be apply the 12v power to the steering wheel and the horn works fine.

Hi pal! Sorry I’ve just seen your comment! I’m not as active on KZbin anymore. Busy with other projects/ podcasting!😅 thanks man, yeah it feels a lot nicer in my hands as well, and it lifts up the whole interior! The steering wheel is from 987.2/997.2 and I think they were fitted in cayenne’s as well. I have one spare if you interested? It’s same as mine but with silver plastic insert.

So there’s no coding needed? The car doesn’t mind that the paddles are not connected?

No, no coding needed, everything works as it should and the paddles are not connected to anything so there is no problem. The only time you need coding is if you install steering wheel from 2015 and up!
