This has been a massively helpful in understanding the challenges of 992s and the work/skills required to work on these cars. Excellent work thankyou for sharing.

Pretty cool that Olly has the knowledge, kit and confidence to drop out and reinstall the entire motor plus transmission, solo. Kudos. Loving that yellow motor lift. This is worlds apart from me and my foster dad using a block & tackle to winch out Rover 3.5L motors back in the 1970s!

Very thorough video, and high quality content as always, your commitment to the Porsche 911 is unmatched and should I ever be lucky enough to own one I would contact you guys immediately and book a service and inspection 👍🏻

It appears you've got the road salt monster there, as the US has in the northern regions. I'm residing in Florida and we don't see the hose junctions corroding, so that eliminated electrolysis being the culprit. Thank for the tip on the coolant tank relief valve causing the tank to split.

good spot on the engine mounts. I thought the wheel hop from pushing the car hard from a stop was normal however the thud that came through the cabin was almost partially deafening. A specialist didn't spot that the engine mounts were going bad when we bought the car and they did a look over the 997 C2S. I did also mention the loud thuds that used to happen during wheel hopping still no show of concern. Fast forward a year or two and one day going from a stop and accelerating hard wheel hop happened and the right engine mount failed! people need to change engine mounts way more often. After getting new engine mounts the car felt phenomenal, espeically around bends

Ollie loves his red sealant 👌

Why does it need sealant in addition to the clip?

What sort of a ball park figure does all that work cost, so owners can factor that in to running a 997 ?
@cblack1green11 ай бұрын
Yes I would be interested in what the cost was, I have the same vehicle.

Great information as usual, these look like typical proactive maintenance jobs….are the cars similar in mileage and age?

I was thinking I'd drop my 997 engine in order to do the AOS and all of the plastic bits and the injectors and whatever else I can with it out, as a proactive measure. I have 100k miles. you didn't mention the AOS on either of these engines. Are you seeing that they are not an issue on the 3.6 997?

You are almost like a factory now with those engine out jobs 😆. My hands were itching for cleaning the engine bay and the engine itself 😢

From the USA, just curious how long it takes to pull an engine? I'd love to see a video of that, step by step; from the car coming in the garage to getting to where you began this video.

Thank you for a great presentation, is that corrosion around the engine mounts due to the use of salt on the roads? Ollie sure knows his stuff...👌🦘🦘🦘
