I've seen a lot of videos mentioning the drain holes. Maybe they will point towards one but that's it. I would LOVE to have a video of minute by minute showing each drain hole exactly where it is and how to access it, then how to clean it out and test it. That would really be helpful. I'll bet you that 99/100 people can't do that ... Good video. Thanks. You can really have a great series here.

Your plastic window doesn't have to be frozen to crack when you move it. I have never moved mine while frozen. It rarely freezes here, sometimes never in a winter but I have two cracks. Just a cold window will crack. Even 50F to 60F. It just will happen eventually. I'm saving for a heated glass window top.

My Boxster is a 2000 S. From what I have read, you don't know if a 2000 has the dual or single row bearing. That year had both as they were in the middle of the change. I just assume mine is the single row. As you said, the problem is very much exaggerated. I'll change mine when the clutch needs to be replaced along with the RMS.
@GeorgeAusters3 ай бұрын
I believe they changed the IMS tensioner when they changed the bearing.. Mine has the earlier style tensioner thus the earlier style bearing
@andrewfitton7642 ай бұрын
I took my 2004 S in to our independent toget the ims changed when I bought it and they said it didn’t need it as the original engine had obviously failed under warranty and it had already received the official Porsche fix and rebuild. Got the clutch and rms changed whilst it was in.

Aren’t the IMS bearings not fed oil from engine? So oil changes will do nothing
@mikedx27063 ай бұрын
The IMS was a sealed bearing, which is why they fail. The IMS is not fed any oil by the engine's oiling system.

The rear bearing isn’t oil fed from factory, the after market replacement kit has an adaptor kit that sits behind oil filter with a dedicated oil feed to it
