how did you go with the oven cleaner on the gearbox? I wanted to do something simular once I get the motor and gearbox out.cheers

If the situation is hopeless trying to scrub all that grime off, the oven cleaner will cut through most of it. It left some of that light brown crust on, but removed the vast majority of it. I'd try to not leave it on too long and keep it away from the seals.

@@3.2Carrera i think if you put the cleaner on give it a srub no longer than 5 mins and wash it off with hot soapy water.
