What's going on at the rear bumper with those huge ugly rubber things. We didn't have those in the UK, they were much smaller. I got rid of mine completely and fitted some neat little LED licence plate lights. Looks so much cleaner, fit the cup door mirrors from other Porsches, much more upto date than the "flag" mirrors.

The large rubber bumpers were US spec from '74-'89 due to regulations. I'm looking into keeping the impact bumpers, but trading the aluminum blades for carbon fiber to keep the car looking like a Carrera 3.2. The advantage of those huge rubber things is it's a nice place to sit at a car show and that's about the only use for them.

I'm also going to rebuild my 2.7 ltre and my constantlly geting info and watching videos on re-asemble. how did you go on the cam timing? was it a challenge to get the setting right.
@3.2Carrera4 ай бұрын
With the car engine on the stand I pulled up a stool and just took my time. I used this video set from KATS channel as a reference for most of my build. The special tools add up fast. kzbin.info/www/bejne/q2Ork4aEmaZ1aaM

The boss hub for the wheel where did you get that?
@3.2Carrera4 ай бұрын
@@john2ndname The main thing is to get the tools and take your time on the cam timing. For the first time, take a few days. Measure, then measure again. You can see my comments on Kurts video when I did mine where I wasn't getting the sides exact. Even the play in the holes or slight differences between them can be measured with the dial indicator and that was driving me crazy.

My car is white also...but it was repainted and I dont have the paint code. Can I ask what your paint code is and name of the paint ?
@3.2Carrera4 ай бұрын
The original paint code is L908 and is called Grand Prix White. It was the standard white for Porsche for many decades.

@@3.2Carrera cheers thanks for that. I even have that paint chip in the right side corner of the front hood.
