My 2011 Cayenne TT (958) just start leaking coolant from the back of the engine on the right (passenger side). I took her apart today... intake manifold and all but couldn't see the leak. I even popped off a few hoses just to make sure there was no corrosion. All was good. I'll do some further inspection from underneath behind the engine. I know if I accelerate quickly it exacerbates the problem... Update: I was able to visualize the leak. It's under the right rear of the engine (passenger side) just above an exhaust cat. It appears that 1 screw vibrated out of the coolant distributor and the pipe it holds is sitting 2mm to 3mm loose. I believe this is a feeding pipe of coolant, possible directly from the filler reservoir. The part# 9A7-001-821-00. I think It's an easy fix. It's within arms reach from the chassis while under the car. Thanks for your video!

Thank you for your detailed reply. I don't have the same issue, but when it does occur I will be able to make more sense of it because of you, so thank you.

Dealer wanted $4800 + tax to do engine out to fix this exact issue on my 09 GTS. Weissach Vancouver quoted me $1500 + tax to fix it this way but using a rivet instead of the set screw. Imagine paying the dealer all that money to replace the coolant bridge only for the part to completely fail again. The guys on rennlist say that you aren't in the cayenne brotherhood until this happens to you and some sort of major coolant failure will happen on 100 out of 100 cayenne's. Porsche should have honestly just replaced the low coolant warning with a picture of $ signs.

May I ask what type of epoxy you used?

Edward Rich any brand is good. As long as it’s for metal.

Did you have to remove the fuel pump to get access?
@vacbmw3 жыл бұрын
Sorry too long ago to remember that detail

He removed the high pressure pump, but you don’t have to. I did have to remove the crash plate between the pump and the firewall, and the lower stud that supports the crash plate where the common rail inlet fuel line is secured to.

How much do cost to have that done?

@@vacbmw I live in Pleasantville NJ just out side of Atlantic City and just recently purchased a 2012 Cayenne Turbo with 83,000 miles so fare all go. But every time I pull off I feel something in the drive tran but clear up as I'm driving
@vacbmw5 жыл бұрын
Rick Smooth I can’t help you unless you make the drive up to Philadelphia but that has nothing to do with the coolant leak this video is only for coolant leak issues

Had to do the same at 27k miles. Now at 88k and no issues. Getting the electronics out of the way was a pita. Porsche should have addressed the issue!

I was going to say the same thing, but the set screw should hold it long term.
