So I have a 2011 Cayenne (92A) to do. Reading the autel coverage list it states add key and even all keys lost can be done via obd. Curious as I want to do it right. Why did you not try it obd?

Hey buddy, do you think that if it was an all keys lost situation your new key would have turned the ignition on for the on board programming portion?

can you go back later and add another key if you wanted since you already did this once and got the data from the module?
@DTEAuto2 ай бұрын
I would assume that the same process would need to be followed,

hello boss good night . when you generate the new key and add it in my example in slot number 3, I don't see that you write the new binde file to the chip

how would you learn the key if it’s all keys lost? after putting it back in the car, does it turn on the ignition to be able to continue with the “key learning” option?
@ThatDIYguy8629 ай бұрын
im assuming you soldered everything back on the board and made that connection back that you cut with the blade right?
@DTEAuto9 ай бұрын
Yes that is correct

I was going to say.. I could make this key with my Xtool D8 through the IMMO functions and never have to take anything apart. I was wondering why you were doing it the hard way. Making keys is usually very straight forward and easy when you already have the master key in hand.. There are certain cars that will learn a third or fourth key just by a simple sequence-- if you have two other keys in hand. No scan tool required...

Maybe he’s working with the tools that he currently owns?

@@djosbun His autel is far more advanced than my xtool D8.. He was just trying to do it the hard way. They way he was doing it: is how you would have to get it done if you completely lost all your keys. But since he had other keys, it's much easier to just make clones. He got it done in the end
@DTEAuto10 ай бұрын
I ended up doing it the way the tool describes you to do it. For the Porches I believe this is the only way to do an actual "add" of a key to the bcm eeprom data. I have not to this date done a "key clone" with my autel, I am not sure if it can.

Hey, can you elaborate how to do that exactly ? I’ve got 1 original working key. Thanks kindly
@calholli9 ай бұрын
@@rods715 You have to buy a scan tool that will do it. I have the xtooI D8, but there are many others out there. I haven't done it on a Porsche, to be clear.. But for my MDX and dodge nitro... I bought some cheap keys online-- (15 bucks each), then took them to AceHardware to get them physically cut (for one dollar each)-- then you just hook up the scan tool and follow the steps.. It will ask you to insert the real key... and then insert the new key.. and cycle it off and on a few times, etc.. It's different for each car, you just have to follow the steps... The Nitro key has a built in keyFob- so I had a few extra steps with locking and unlocking the doors, etc.. Then it says complete--- and you can enter a 3rd key if you want another copy--- and just follow the steps again.
