Great DIY video! Not gonna lie though, I did the lower control arm and cv axle replacement on my 2009 Turbo S last night while using this as a reference and you make it look way easier. 🤣 A rusted bolt on my control arm and a lift on mine as well made it a MUCH longer process than I thought. Couldn't have made it through it without this vid, but rethinking my DIY skills at this point. Haha

Quality “how-to” video, well done. I definitely would not use the pickle fork but each to their own there. I’m buying a 2007 to rebuild and bring it back to its former glory. I appreciate people like you taking the time to produce something like this. I also can’t endorse enough to people doing their own work to use the paint marker on all bolts, nuts. Great confidence when you routinely check and see nothing has moved.

This is the best DIY video I have seen for this repair. I have a 2004 Turbo with hydraulic bushings ... unlike the Turbo S with solid bushings. I'm guessing the Audio LCA you are using are going to be the best value/performance option.

I found this video very helpful. If I may make a request/suggestion. I have a 2006 with the coil over shocks. The mounting is slightly different up the top. It has a plate at the top. And on the drivers side there is a leveling sensor. And the last of the 3 bolts at the top of the shocks. It is in a very awkward spot. Little hard to get to. Kind of make me think that the Porsche engineers are still shirty about the time we sent bomber command and the 8th Airforce over to Germany. I had to get up onto the motor to get at the bolt head on the left hand side. And do you have a video on replacing the rear shock? Could you do a video on an earlier model Cayenne?

The upper control arm should be 155mm from the edge of the mounting bracket on the top of the strut and the centre of the wheel should be 499mm from the edge of the wing when tightening up the bolts going through the relevant bushes.

I am having A LOT of trouble getting my control arm ball joint in. The top CV joint is getting in the way of the bolt. I go in from the front, from the rear i try jacking it up. I try lowering it and there is absolutely no way I can get it to go in. I am all out of ideas. I even tried measuring it with callipers and the measurements are correct. Any ideas?

Great video, would you happen to know the part numbers for the lower control arm Adjusting(Eccentric) Bolts and Nuts/Lock Nuts..? Will I need 4 of the same Bolts and Nuts, 2 for each lower control arm? Or are the front and rear eccentric Bolts and Lock Nuts on the lower control arm different? I need to order but I stuck at this point.

Hey!!! What is the front skid plate and bumper of this truck? FYI, I just did this service. It's a bit more tender when you don't have a professional lift. That be said, a little bit of crawling around in tight places and muscle will get the job done. Thanks for this video!

I really enjoyed this DIY - very complete. Since I need to replace my ride height sensors (common issue), I was interested in the places where you disconnected/connected the ride height sensor cables, as it gave me a chance to get a better view. At least you did not need to press the ball joints out and back in - had to do that on a Bronco, and it was a bit of a pain (even with air and the special press). Were these OEM replacement control arms, or special heavy duty ones? There's another FCP Euro video showing special control arms on a Mercedes from Syncro Design Works, including footage of the control arms while on a track, showing how much play regular arms have vs the special ones (kzbin.info/www/bejne/fYqcYWyFe5lqhMk). Thanks for the Cayenne DIY - I'm always hungry for more!

An OTC 7314A Pitman Arm Puller will press out both lower and upper ball joints + the outer tie rod end. Lose the hammer and fork. Your causing damage to the other components and making yourself look like a rookie. You tightened the lower strut bolt with the suspension at full droop. That bushing isn't going to last.
