Porsche Cayenne PSM and ABS System Failure Fix

Great video, but did you let your battery be unplugged for 20 minutes to reset the codes I noticed in the video you did not restart the car.

Yes. An hour passed by the time a.new.battery was installed.

@@SerhansGarage so I have a 2011 Cayenne S did the exact same thing yours did but I didn’t have time to leave the battery unhooked for an hour. Your suggestions or thoughts to make the codes go away? Thank you for your response. That’s awesome.

Yes, also noticed car was not re- started at the end lol. Cannot be sure its fixed by how video ended

I had the same issue in my Cayenne from 2013, driving it seldom and often short distance. I guess the battery is never replaced. However, it was easier than replacing the battery, I just charged it over night and the problem was solved! Super easy! I cannot understand that this solution is not more widely known. Always, start to charge your battery as the first step when get these warnings!

What is de Solution when this behavior starts with the tyre pressure sensor on one wheel? You are talking about this in the video at 1:23. Can you explain what you mean?

I was referring to the wheel speed sensors, if one goes bad then it can trigger the ABS warning

I have 2011 Cayenne. Got error codes to check engine and Start Stop function disabled. Then battery died. I took it to a shop and they replaced the battery. But the codes never went away. Still have engine light and start stop warning lights. Now it cant pass inspection and my state registration expired Jan 1. Dealership wants $250 just for a diagnostic. Could it be the auxillary battery that also needs to be replaced (I dont even know if there is one)? Or maybe the mechanic didnt register the battery? Help!

@AmyWilliams1914 there could be many reasons for check engine and stop start errors. I don't know if it's battery related, I ve heard if thermostat is bad it can result in same errors. Look up the codes and see what is triggering it. I bought a cheap diagnostic tool and it reads the error codes so I have a better idea what the issues is

And just starting today, now there is a strong chemical smell when I turn on the car.

@AmyWilliams1914 coolant leak, these cars are known to have coolant leaks which have a distinct chemical smell.when burned off.by the heat of the engine

Try disconnecting your battery for 20 mins and reinstall and see if they go.away for.good.

I have this issue on Cayman GTS 981 for a few years and new battery helps for some time (2-4 months) only. I plug it on ctek charger to avoid voltage drop when parked in my garage but still very often get these issues. Sometimes start the car and let it run for few minutes and turn off and start again solve it, but sometimes not and need 3-5 tries. Porsche replaced ABS module which not helped and was pretty expensive try. New alternator not helped also. No one is able to fix it. :-( Very bad experience with porsche (had 3 Cayenne and no issues except coolant leak with all of them...big issue btw). 981 is great car but these computer units working on getaway is dead end for my cayman. 😢

i have cayenne turbo 15’ the car is from auction battery was bad many times we start the car with charger also christmas tree on the dash psm etc check engine mama mia , nitrogen is gun we put some air in struts cause we remove them and fix inside the bushings was bad, now the suspension not working its says suspension failure park vehicle

If air suspension has failed first thing to check is the fuse on sode of dash on driver side...my air suspension failed and I replaced the fuse and its been no problem for over 2 years. I have a video on it. Good luck

@@SerhansGarage ok thanks for the help! is it ok to put air in struts not in ballon under car, or its nitrogen reguired its drives very harsh not comfortable
