I recently wanted to update from my 2019 Toyota 4runner Limited, into a more luxury, sport performance SUV. My wife and I went to our local Range Rover / Jaguar dealership, and test drove the 2023 Jag f-pace. Range Rover Sport, and Range Rover Velar. All three vehicles were very beautifully designed cars, which felt luxurious, fast, and sporty. My wife and I were almost set on the Range Rover Sport HSE, but I paused for a moment and decided to go down the street to our local Porsche dealership, as we wanted to look at the Cayennes, just to make sure that we were making the right decision. As soon as we sat in the Porsche Cayenne, we were sold. There is really nothing like a Porsche, I must say. The Cayenne felt more refined, sophisticated, reliable, and sensible. If you want a beautiful, sporty looking car, with high performance, reliability, and resale, then go with a Cayenne. You won't regret it.

The RR sport v8 s/c Autobiography does everything. It's smooth and comfy on the shittest roads, will out-drag an Audi s3, luxurious, all-weather, genuine all-terrain car. I think it may even be thirstier than the missus's RS6 Plus when thrashed - which it will be at every chance because of that Nascar sound. It's addictive. I've only been in the 2007 - Cayanne Turbo S (521bhp) and the second thing I noticed after the speed was the comfort. I wondered how Porsche could make 2500 kgs so much more comfy on 21" wheels than my missus's 2007 -Audi s4 with smaller wheels and about 900kgs lighter. .... there should have been a drag race in this vid' instead of looking at a glass of water for 5 mins.

If you compare the tyre pressures from 0:40 (SVR) and 2:30 (Cayenne) you can see that the SVR has less pressure than the Porsche. Maybe that is part of the reason why the Range Rover is more comfortable offroad.

I have a cayenne turbo as a daily driver. It's the ultimate do everything phenomenally vehicle. Cruise on a quiet cloud get 23mpg freeway then in a sec drop it down, put in sport or sport+ and it's a supercar 911 under 4 sec 0-60. Then lift it up go off road, tow your boat, go in the snow and ice, it does everything

It's a private track that leads off from one end of the Claerwen Dam in the Elan Valley reservoir park in Wales - near Rhayader. There was nothing to stop you driving on it, but it ends at a gate and the way through is banned for cars due to some floral rare habitat beyond. Or at least that's how it was when I went there about 10 years ago. It's worth a visit just for the scenery

Well by my experience you will appreciate Porsche more then rang rover over long run. Rang rover have crackling sound after few years from all around the interior it really feels bad thinking it is competing to be the best in class. Nonetheless Porsche has its own flaws like power degradation after few years.

SenszR - It took me no more than 5 minutes to check this... To spec an SVR exactly like the one in the video comes to just under £138,000. The SV Autobiography starts at just over £142,000 (or a few grand more depending on what colour you want) but already comes with most of the extras as standard - Apart from the carbon fiber engine cover that is just over £1,500 and the driver assist package that is £175. £6,000 would be peanuts of a difference to someone who can even consider buying either, especially when it comes to leasing/finance.

This review was pretty inconsistent, voice and sound levels going up and down, mumbling and then high music - As usual very little excitement and no little drag race nor other competition to spice up the video - Which is okay for average cars - but this is Sports SUV´s. To say that the red cabin of the Cayenne is less Flamboyant interior is also pretty weird since the RR has the new more stylized interior from the Velar - which is rather beautiful but not exactly flamboyant. I do not fancy either SUV much, though I was always leaning towards the RR LR since they have been doing this for a very long time. And for SUV road driving dynamics, one should not forget the new BMW X5 M in this lineup and last - The most potent SUV!? What about the Lamborghini Urus with 650 HP or the ugly Bentayaga with 600 HPs. Range Rover also does describe the SVR as the most potent Range Rover ever, but not as the most Potent SUV ever. This review was boring, uninspired, rather badly presented and failed to address the competition and choices, exact numbers on weight and other comparisons. You got two powerful SUV´s and a beautiful location - what could go wrong? apparently everything.

owned a 2010 Cayenne Turbo and loved it (apart from the gearbox which was a bit slow). I just bought a 2018 Cayenne S and i hate it so much, doesnt feel special at all. Boring car. Im considering upgrading it to the Turbo, but worried it may be a bit sterile as well. I think new Porsches with electric steering and smaller, more efficient engines have lost a lot of their character and driver focus. . This review didnt do anything to make me want to buy the Turbo.

Why hasn’t anyone mentioned that the Cayenne is 1/2 a second quicker to 60 than the SVR? In either a 60 mph sprint or a rolling start, the Cayenne would be in front of the SVR and wouldn’t even hear its exhaust!
