Cheers dude! Funnily enough when I fitted the diff I expected it to make it easier and more predictable to drift.... which granted it has in many ways. But being mid engined, loads of grip and loads of power.... It's taken a bit of toe dipping to get comfortable sliding about as it feels so soo different to the front engined stuff! Takes more input to break traction and can snap back if not committed... and that's the main thing... harder to stay relaxed in something like this. Just putting together the vid on the day and I was going to go into how I slowly build up to the bigger slides etc. Most of what I do is all on the Brakes. Trail it into the corner to get the rear light so it breaks free. It's such a sweet car to drive fast and with the aids on it really would look after any ability of driver. Rear ARB was a biggy! Really made for a more direct and agile feel. Just makes steering inputs feel more precise. The BMC filters just lets a bit more intake noise in the cabin in brilliant ways. Not OTT, but just right :).

No because you are not altering the gearing

Sadly not bud. It's something we really explored and would of jumped on if there had been any option to put a higher final drive in while I was having the LSD put in. Sadly no such option exists for the PDK.... only manual versions.

What was labor like for the install? Did they have to drop the gearbox?

Luckily not pal, pretty simple in terms of getting to the diff... but you do need someone like Ninemeister who REALLY know their stuff. They have to shim and machine parts to make sure it's a perfect fit. The labour cost was incredibly reasonable.

Just a quick question, aren't these made for MT cars only? I know the case is the same between MT and PDK, Just wondering if that's all and the installation is the same or maybe there was something else to look out for? Thanks

Ooohh great question and one that is very hard to answer! For me you just cant really beat a front engined RWD layout for outright fun! The Cayman feels very capable and special... but for outright fun you just can't beat an mx5 imho!

Massive mate but for most I would say not to bother unless you are reeallly into the drive. You do feel it tighten everything up and the traction gains are incredible. Gotta love a skid too haha!

@@vesper9780 Hello! Congratulations on the purchase you will love it! It's a tricky one that! I don't think it is essential but once you have one installed there would be no real turning back. Corner exit traction is vastly improved and it slides so predictably. It certainly doesn't do anything for rear tyre life span though haha! I just cant help but want to slide it about!

A very very rarely selected option I’m afraid mate. Even the GTS versions don’t have one unless optioned.

@@coenwag That is porsche for you. It is criminal what they give you considering the exorbitant price. Salt on the wound? For 718's nobody even makes aftermarket LSD, not Wavetrac not anyone.
