This is a 2016 Porsche Cayman GT4. The GT4 takes the 911 GT3 front suspension and steering, plus the Carrera S engine and morphs it into one hell of a car. The 2016 GT4 was the only GT car at the time to come with a manual transmission and because of that feature it is desirable as a great everyday car ora weekend track toy. The 2016 Porsche GT4 was powered by a 3.8L engine with 385hp. In addition, the new GT4 using a 4.0L engine has gone up in price, making these older GT3s remain in high demand and hold value. This particular car has the guards red interior accents including the stitching, seatbelts and door handles, along with the centre console. The Alcantera steering wheel and shifter have been deleted in favour of a conventional leather steering wheel. This car also has the Porsche Dynamic Lighting System.

I would get rid of my ‘87 911 in a second, if I thought that I could afford to replace it for something like this. It definitely is a more focused driver’s car. ... perhaps one day. I agree about that ‘Alcantara’ - its best being used as a roof liner material. Thanks for the video.

Silver wing supports. Rare free spec since it got discontinued mid way through the model run. Most examples and all the current 718 are spec with black. Subtle and works well with white gt4’s. Add silver wheels to complete the look.

Nice spec on this one! (Except for the red dash accents) With 19K on the odometer it’s certainly commanding a premium, but I wonder how its value would hold up if daily driven.

I think will hold their value reasonably well, BUT with the new GT4 4.0, the GT4 RS, and the GTS going back NA will probably cause the price of these to slip to the low $70s in a few years (or at least I hope so I can maaaaayyyybeeeee afford one).

don't think this would hapen. I own a 981 GT4. My sales person contacted me last summer to test drive the newer version (718) in the hope I would get rid of mine and get this one. Even though the new car has a 4.0 H6 engine with a 200 rpm increased red line, more aero....let me say the two cars drive really different. I would say the first version is more raw, more mechanical, more analog...the newer one seems to be more daily driven oriented. It certainly doesn't have the sonority of the first one as well. Also, keep in mind that the 981 versio was a limited production. That's not the case with the 718. I like to compare the two versions of the GT4 with those two version of the GT3 in term of value holding: 997 GT3/991GT3. The 997 especially the .2 will always hold their values more than the 991 as they were very less produced

The 981 GT4 was not a limited production run mate, it is limited by the capacity of the factory and how many units they make. The same can be had with the 991 GT3, and in the case of the 997 GT3 they started at £79k and because of the mezger engine everybody wants one. You are lying to yourself if you think Porsche actually LIMIT the amount of cars they produce, they are a business after all.......

@@fbibarry6447 compare the number of units produced for the 981 platform vs the 718.... the rarest unit available the more they'll hold their value... offer/demand.... You're right, for the 718 Porsche said they'll produced as many as customers would want to buy. That waasn't the case with the 981

Just so you know... the 981 GT4 was only produced for one year unlike the 718 which has already been produced for two years in a row and which will continue to be produced...

Is the 981 GT4 or 982 (aka 718) GT4 a limited production run? I am reading conflicting information everywhere. Some say the 981 GT4 is limited to 2,500 cars, but NOT the 982 GT4

Hi Daniel, The high end Cayman is called the GT4 and not the GT3 due to the Timeline rather than the model range i.e the Cayman only came into production in 2005 with the GT4 production run not starting until ten years later in 2015. The 911 range has had the GT3 from 1999( famous RS2.7 before this). So, basically the GT3 was “born” 16yrs before the GT4.

I have an '07 Cayman S.... Headers, GT3 Manifold, Flashed the chip 365HP... 0-60 about 4 flat... Bilstein R9 shocks and lightweight flywheel with sport clutch and machined short throw shifter... Silver with Terracotta ALL Leather and Carbon Fiber including the shifter... 409,000 miles... NO engine/IMS issues... You are at Sebring at 5,000 RPM's... Best car ever! Bought at Brumos in 2010... Hurley Haywood Driver Ed... Amazing... Veery quick! GT4 in the future... Perhaps... They don't depreciate especially if... you never drive them... Which is complete idiocy.... DRIVE THE CAR! I mean like 3 tanks of gas annually in this car... The rubber will rot... I've had several Porsches all of which I put well into 6 figures on the odo... Million miles of driving Porsches... aside from this car 968, 944 Turbo 1987 and an 1989 Turbo S... DRIVE IT... ENJOY IT... You ONLY live once!

Too bad Porsche saddled the GT4, especially the first generation ones, with such tall gearing in order to maintain the performance gap between the Cayman and the 911. It's even more frustrating given it's a manual gearbox because you can only use the first three gears at most before you're going to jail so you have a great manual that you can't use as much as you should be able to.
