Drove a Ford Courier to a Toyota dealership with two sons on a hot day. The path over to the pickups went right in front of the big picture window of show room. There is a special C-Clamp made just for this purpose, and I've got one holding my exhaust manifold to the catalytic converter flange right now.(2010 Equinox 2.4L) Amazon sells the American-made version and O'Reilly's sells the Chinese-made version. My American-made one did not come with all the parts it was supposed to, so I had to get a second one from O'Reilly's, and I can tell you that the Chinese one was much better made and had all the necessary parts. My local NAPA regional distributor not only didn't sell these devices, they had never heard of them and were mystified that such devices might ever be needed or even exist. These clamps come in different sizes and are more compact than some of the regular C-Clamps, which is helpful in cramped spaces. On Amazon, the name of the device is - "Nickson 17351 Clamp-A-Stud." The same company also makes clamps that work to attach exhaust manifolds to V-8, V-6 and In-line 6 heads where you have broken off a stud or can't easily replace a missing one - very ingenuous devices, but slightly more expensive than the $5 Harbor Freight/Porsche-certified clamps. P.S. Porsche odometers only go to 99,999 miles. You know why - no one's ever gone further than that in one, so there's no customer demand.

You're absolutely correct about Porsche owners and dealers. They haven't changed in 45 years. One of my co workers was a Porsche owner with all the usual quirks. We thought it was great fun to spray a little motorcycle chain lube on the bottom of the engine and on the ground and tell him "Hey Ronnie. I think your car is leaking oil again." He'd leave work for an emergency trip to the Porsche dealer, they'd clean it up, find no leaks and send him home until a couple weeks later it would happen again.

On a regular basis he sees trucks/full size SUVs with 300,00 or more miles on them. At least once a month he sees a few with over 500k and these are all gas trucks. Second best car I owned was a Toyota Celica in the 80s. Third best was an Acura. But, master cylinder failed at 37,000 miles.
