Porsche GT3 RS vs Honda S2000 vs V6 MX-5 - Epic Nurburgring Battle!

Is it fair to compare cheap, old, modified, JDM roadsters with modern offerings from Porsche? Would anyone realistically pick an MX-5 or an S2000 over a GT3 RS? Flat 6 or V6? Or maybe all you need is some HKS supercharging for your 'VTEC just kicked in, yo'? No matter what we think, you guys tend to to love these videos so it was only fitting to finish 2019 with one.

The s2000 is my, I didn’t remember that’s lap! Was the day i lost my rear license plate! My best lap isn’t the one Kevin post, if you look for s2000 vs e46 m3 you will find my best 7:37 still not the limit of the car, July 2019 a valve failed and I had to rebuild the engine I’m working on it(complete new spec), the car running already I just have to finish some small stuff and should be ready! The smokes is because is a bit rich and not all the times the flames going to the end of the exhaust but only the smokes coming out!

+300bhp V6 in a circa 950kg MX5 is shockingly fast to drive in real life. My UK mk1 MX5 runs this same 300bhp power using a Honda J32A V6 (Mods: 90mm throttle, Holley plenum, ported runners, CompTech headers, custom exhaust, AEM Series 2). Aside from the warp drive the sound is insane.

Not was so bad, I did worst passing in the carussel, the spring rate was 150 front and 140 rear kw spring rate! The car with that’s setup was soft I put harder spring now 180/160 but I have to do some test to find the best setup! My dampers can’t load my driving the springs rate and the tires! I have to change suspension with better one!

I've been looking att most of the videos through your V6 build and one thing that shows in these later videos is how more comfortable you seem to be with the car now than in the beginning. It looks a lot faster and you look more relaxed driving it. I guess over time you learn the limits of the car and you feel more confident in what it can do. Very nice build, it looks so fun to drive :)

Different engine than the stock so no rev and different gearbox because of the engine so no speedometer as well.

izzo Artistry I just mean, the MX5 has what, like probably 250 hp? The supercharged S2K probably has around 350 hp. Yes they both weigh less than a GT3 RS, but they also don’t have over 500 hp and aren’t made by a company that has won every major motorsports event since the 1950s

Why? Just because it has more hp? Power to weight of the miata and s2k are probably on par if not better than the Porsche and handling wise they look stable and very sorted. At the hands of a very skilled driver the Porsche could have perhaps pulled away but not easily as you state.

Does the rear wing on your car improve handling? How much down force does it generate? Do you have a splitter on the front to balance it?

The rear wing definitely helps the car on traditional tracks. Maybe on the NS with the big straights there is a trade off in drag. Still we think for anything with a decent amount of power some aero work is a must. The car unfortunately doesn't have a splitter yet to be properly balanced aero-wise. Ideally we recommend you do both at the same time in your Miata (or any car for that matter).

Cool, but heavily modded vs stock, 9/10th vs 7/10ths, average driver vs experienced driver. The car is only a tool, even the best tools need to be used by a good craftsman to get the job done properly.
