Porsche GT4 RS Road & Track Review! IT'S THE BEST!

How do you improve on the already epic GT4? Easy: Naturally Aspirated GT3 engine. 500BHP. In a mid-engine perfect Porsche. God my mind is blown.
That engine comes from the 911 GT3 Cup racing car and the 911 GT3! It revs as high as 9,000 rpm and has air intakes behind our ears. VS the. Normal GT4, it has an extra 80 PS, resulting in a weight-to-power ratio of 2.83 kg/PS. The maximum torque is 450 Nm. And 0-60 of 3.4 - but we absolutely smash this! The car is PDK, but the 7 speed is now sports low ratio - so lower ratio than the normal PDK, meaning more shifts and better traction.
In weight, it’s 35KG lighter than a GT4. CFRP components includes bonnet, front wings, less insulation, and there’s much more including even lightweight carpets! A Swan-neck rear wing with aluminium support, derived from the Porsche 911 RSR GT. The titanium tailpipes are inspired by the Porsche 935. The car has a 30-millimetre-lower ride height, RS vents on the front wheel arches, a fully clad underbody connected to the rear diffuser, an adjustable front diffuser & finally front spoiler lip with side blades. Both in the same ‘track’ settings, GT4 RS generates 20% more downforce than GT4.
The result on the ring, it’s faster by more than 23 seconds… with a lap of 7:04 seconds.
All of that is fine, but as a #supercar for the road, I want to know if it’s a good road car too, or just nths and tenths better than the normal GT4. I also want to see how it compares to the GT3 RS and GT2 RS with which the car will be inevitably compared.

Best review of the GT4 RS, both on track and day to day road use. That sound, the gear changes is certainly the most track inspired GT car out there. Simply the best. The new yardstick to measure all GT cars by. Porsche has come the full circle, building a car that traces its origins back to the original #001 The still born and epic 916 and the 914/6 GT. Yes the 911 is great , but this mid engine takes the cake, the icing and the cherry.

Awesome car, but nearly impossible to get without a $100K markup here in the US. It does make you wish Porsche would offer a shorter gear ratio option for the regular GT4. Who wouldn’t check the box for an extra $5K or so? Keep in mind that the GT4 pdk version’s gearing is only a tiny bit shorter than the manual car - nothing like the RS

That was brilliant only did you do the on track stuff but you took it off road and drove it normally which all of the other videos aren’t they just phoning everywhere. Good way to end my night here. All 3 gentlemen had loads of fun in this one - does make me feel sad about ICE cars going away despite my low car IQ. Great review. Helpful. Bringing in the GT4 was a good idea. The Weissach package seems overkill. Too much carbon fibre and cost that brings the price up to that of a GT3. Next we need a GT3 v GT4RS comparison. Please.

From a purely functional perspective, the mid-engine Cayman is a better performer than the 911. Porsche refused to install a LSD into the Cayman concerned it'd lay waste to the more prestigious 911. Basically the cayman gt4 is already mental, but porsche gt division decided to make this car to another level and that level is almost gt3 territory. For me, the gt4rs is more worth it than the gt3. Just think of it, 500 hp on the cayman vs 510 hp on the 911 and there's a price gap almost 28k pound and you only get 10 more horsepower on the 911

OMG, what has come over the motoring journos? Not this guy, but the printed media wallies that bemoan the lack of a manual gearbox in many cars. They all are drooling over this GT4 RS and hardly mention the PDK. Having the PDK means you can keep both hands on the wheel, which you will need when this thing gets going. The CEO of Ferrari said that a manual gearbox is a ‘Nostalgic’ choice as , in the real world, nobody wants to be pushing pedals and waggling sticks on the A34 ( choose your own road) in a traffic jam.
