Wow, can't believe you waited the whole 2k...the car feels so slow under 4k RPMs! I followed APs protocol on rennlist. I bet your car never goes below 4k now, haha.

It hasn’t dropped below 4k since that very day! Thanks for watching Check out a video or two from the channel if that's your thing. :-)
@louisolivierfortin Жыл бұрын
Blame it on the gearing. Such a light car isnt supposed to feel slow anywhere in the rev range but Porsche sure makes it so. Might as well buy the PDK if on most roads you can only legally shift once at redline
@sushimidnight953910 ай бұрын
@@louisolivierfortinthis simply isn’t true due to how a transmission works, any car is going to feel slow outside of the optimal power band, which on most super cars isn’t 3-4k
@louisolivierfortin10 ай бұрын
@@sushimidnight9539 Have you driven any recent NA porsche? I have driven a boxster GTS and a cayman GT4. These cars do feel slow everywhere except past 5k RPM. Dont worry I know exactly how a teansmission works, and I know a high revving low torque engine benefits short gearing. The gearing on manual porsches is absurdly long considering the torque available. Almost every car review I saw talks about it. I you enjoy a relaxed driving experience with minimal gear changes than good for you go buy one right now you’ll be super happy.
@boranakin71010 ай бұрын
@@sushimidnight9539 you are right but perhaps missing his point, I think he is talking about the gear ratios themselves instead of a porsche being a sportscar and thus needing to be revved; he means that he would prefer porsches to have closer gear ratios and shorter gears with manual transmissions so that the cars feel more usable in the whole powerband.

Change the oil a couple times before whomping on it. Engines have to break in yes but you also have to clear any fine metal shavings and a other crap that can come off when it sets in with gaskets and bearings. Also check other fluids for any wear that is being caught in the fluids.

Um you know the "break-in" which is seating of rings against the cylinder is "done" by about 100 to 200 miles give or take. Hopefully, after initial warm up(oil temp >200, you did A LOT of load varying and engine breaking from "higher" RPMs-as this is what seats the rings and ensures good compression and ring seal. ENGINE speed, not car speed. Change the oil and filter and rip away. At this point, change the oil and enjoy your rev range.

Look man no hate, I just don’t understand your mindset. Did it have to be exactly 2000? Do you believe that it you floored it or redlined it a mile before at 1999 that would’ve hurt the car? Or even 10 miles before? Hell even 500 miles before. But let me guess, you’re going to say if I floor it at 1500 miles and the engine breaks then the warranty won’t cover it. And you’re completely right. But an engine has never been broken just after a 1000 miles (unless it’s a manufacturing issue, a factory faulty part or something). Congratulations on your car, you have a great one of course! I just don’t appreciate the sheep mindset of blindly following the rules. You don’t have to necessarily redline it at 1500 miles but you could’ve floored it, enjoyed it. People might also say, “nobody asked you, nobody cares” which is also true but this is just my opinion which I am leaving as a comment on a youtube video. Enjoy your new Porsche man :)

Thanks for the in-depth comment. Much appreciated. You hit all of the thoughts and considerations that I had as I went through the breakin process. At the end of the day, I had a long drive down to a driving trip destination , which made the waiting possible. Cheers and hope you come back!

I didn't see any 8k redlines? and its PDK so not sure why the short shifts, shouldn't be so scared of it

@@trueview3127 Ah I missed that, I guess you wouldn't want to overrev it for warranty, cool car!

Incredible car. But the long gearing makes it super unexciting and slower than its supposed to be. Why does porsche continue to do this with low torque engines???
@trueview3127 Жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching! Hope to see you back sometime. Would totally like shorter gears. I understand noise regulations have something to do with it - but not the expert.

This ensures the GT3 remains king of the heap. They "fixed" it a bit with the PDK cars. 0.7 secs faster than the manual cars to 60. Faster in all gears 1 through 5.

Why does every Porsche has ridiculously long gears?

Wait. They told my to bring my GT3 RS into the shop and do not launch when you hit 2k miles..

Def should change the oil before taking it to high RPM after the breakin period.

I'm sorry, but you were nowhere near the red line. You must rev it till 9 thousand!

I wish I had the GT4RS to make that happen!
