Porsche Production in Germany

Join us on a tour of the Porsche Zuffenhausen and Leipzig production plants. These mega-factories manufacture most of the Porsche lineup, including the all-electric Porsche Taycan and the iconic Porsche 911 sports car, now in its eighth generation (code-named '992'). Also seen in this video are the manufacturing of Porsche's boxer engines, the Porsche Saddlery, and much more. We also included historical footage of the groundbreaking hybrid supercar - the Porsche 918 Spyder, and manufacturing footage of the Porsche Cayenne large SUV, Porsche Macan compact SUV, and Porsche Panamera large luxury car.

Most are built according to popular demand, some made to order.

Each car is made according to a individual order. Some Porsche dealers order the cars configured in the way they can best sell them. Then the dealer determined the equipment. The advantage for the customer is that he can buy the car from the showroom. If the customer wants equipment according to his wishes, he has to live with a longer waiting time. At Porsche, production takes place just in time, so the configuration of the car can even be changed up to 2 weeks before actual production. Porsche then sends an email with a deadline. The order and production confirmation up to the actual production is called allocation and this can even be transferred under certain circumstances. The dealer orders a car and the dealer can make the allocation available to his customers. The customer then receives his car in the color trim of his choice.
