A compelling story. I have not circuit raced because I was never deeply attracted to it. I went into the rally world where adversity lurks at every corner and every straight. Le Mans is an immensely difficult race because of the speed and need for sustained concentration levels. If you do not have rhythm you are done. In one of my last dirt rallies when I was about 60 I was doing a 50 km stage at night in foul rain with mud and massive drop offs if you understeered off a slushy corner. Every time I pulled 3rd even on the short straights I was in full opposite lock sliding down narrow roads and could get no rhythm. It was exhausting (I might add that at 60 I was still running soft sand half marathons (21 km) in 2.5 hours so I was not easily exhausted ) so I stuck it in 2nd gear and just drove for about 50 km on the rev limiter. I averaged over 90 kph and did not have a single spin. It was just survival. I have been involved in 2 Dakars (not driving) and that is a new universe of pain, especially if you are on a bike. Unlike MIchael I personally funded all my cars, all my accidents and all events so it literally was all on me. I and my team went for years without any issues and it was sensational fun and we all had such a great time. When it is good it is sooooo good but when it is bad......

As much as I love this show I think the main thing which will prevent him from driving is the team owners. As I understand the main reason for switching to GT3 was brand participation and cost. @@PaddyMcQueen Yup, had to do with the gear box and he specified the gears BY NUMBER of teeth in each gear. . Car was delivered and he complained about the gearing and insisted the factory .screwed up. The deal was the Porsche Factory District Service manager would have the dealership dismantle the gearbox. If it was incorrectly geared, .. free ride for McQueen. If not, McQueen pays the labor and any parts required. The gear box was dismantled at the selling dealership. The gears were those specified by McQueen. He had a tantrum and insisted that he was special and Porsche should re-gear the box at Porsche's expense. The district manager declined stating the obvious, McQueen made an agreement and the gearing was as he specified. ..Original custom order in hand signed by McQueen He had the car fixed and offed the car. How am I involved? The Porsche Field rep was my boss at Mazda Motors of America. He was the National Service Manager. I was District Mgr. Nor Cal , Nevada, Utah. He had no use for, nor respect for, McQueen..neither did the dealership. PS I have owned only one Porsche, a 1953 bent window coupe bought in 1965.. Cheap at the time. Should never have sold it.

Watching this series over the last few years has reinvigorated me to chase my dreams no matter how small the steps may be, instead of sitting back saying its impossible at least give it as try. Life recently had me in a rut of my day to day and no objectives in life so thank you for bringing my dreams back, giving me the motivation to stand up and grab it for myself. This series is perhaps one of the best takes on failure. Pure and raw as it gets. It’s not about the glamour of racing but about the hard, excruciating battles with oneself trying to be better. If it is the end, then I thank you and the team so much for the lessons you have taught us and the exhilarating moments on and off the track. I have seen every season of Michael Fassbenders journey through Porsche's series and they did not let me down this time. They bring the emotions and the real raw realities of competing in motorsport. The crazy highs that can change to the all time lows with one mistake. The improvement from season 1 to now for Michael as a driver is night and day. Love his positivity as a conclusion, he continues to progress now with the mental side. The journey is so gripping and I find myself invested in every trial and tribulation. At the same time rejoicing at every success Michael has. The cinematography and composition is the best I have ever seen in a racing series and continues with this film. Well done Michael F for taking the mental victory when he'd struggled so hard to get there. I can relate having joined an off-road motorcycle event for which I was out of my depth. I may have been last but I rode over the mountain and I'm not ahsamed to say I shed some tears when I cleared the hardest section. I think Le Mans now is struggling to have room for the amateurs that it orginated with. The level of competition is really high so well done Michael for getting there and Porsche for supporting and making this great film series about it. And the 911RSR is a beast!

Fabulous. I was sitting on top of the grass bank both times Michael ended up in the gravel at Indianapolis in 2022. It was great to see those incidents from onboard and better understand the challenges of that complex. Thanks to Michael and Porsche for making this film.

While I like Michael Fassbender and what he is trying to achieve, the lack of confidence is what's holding him back. You see other drivers just get in the car and get on with it. That's where Michael needs to get to. He's been at this now for 4 years. You know how to drive, you have the experience, it's time to stop thinking and start driving. Stop thinking, just do it. If you can't get to that point, just enjoy driving a car on a track for the fun of it.

I disagree. You are talking as if racing is just “getting in a car”, it’s not. You are constantly pushing boundaries when you race. Michael’s isn’t the only one who struggled.
