Schade dass man nur ein like geben darf :) Grossartig wie die Geschichte des Rennstalls gepflegt und gezeigt wird.

My god, we need more content like this. Norbert is an amazing character with fantastic knowledge, heaps of cool stories and, in my opinion, an even bigger legend than the drivers. Top class content!

It's amazing to see Mr. Singer still sparkle with enthusiasm after all these years. Really hope to see him in a 956/962 episode as well, especially since the car's groundbreaking aerodynamics was his brainchild. Great content as always, Porsche! Enjoying it a lot!

didn't Barth and Röhrl drive 1981 in Le Mans a 944 LM (Prototype) with 2.5 Liter engine and approx 410HP ? There were at least 2 other teams with 924 GTP (2 Liter engine 375HP)....part. in this race ? Interesting, that later when Porsche started building 944 Turbo they used the 2 valve head instead of 4 valve .....

i think they will. the last two Road to Le Mans series were uploaded when the Porsche Cup and ELMS which Michael Fassbender competes in ended. the current ELMS season still on going so maybe we will get it later on this year.

Did I miss it or did they actually do the entire segment on the GTR without once mentioning the 924 Carrera GT?
@zonda60123 жыл бұрын
Wait, the 924GTP is DOHC? rather than SOHC in 944 turbo? So technically it is a blend of 944S and 944 turbo?
@flatsixturbo70333 жыл бұрын
You are indeed correct. Norbert Singer recalls in his biography that it was essentially half of the 928 S4 engine(DOHC 5L V8). Of course, this was way before they were eventually fitted into their production counterparts(with both the 928 S4 and the 944 S debuting around the late 80s if my memory serves me correct) So overall, it's an engine comprised of the 944 S head and the standard 944/951 engine block(the engine block is functionally the same although with minor differences that stem through the years). The difference I may point out with the roadgoing 951 obviously is that instead of the K26(Turbo) or the K27(Turbo S) they use the slightly better K28 turbochargers although it's laggy as a K29 and makes about the same power as a K27.

To be honest, wouldn't it be better for energy companies to directly produce eco-friendly gasoline rather than electric vehicles? I think you can make it. Even if the charging time of an electric vehicle is reduced, it is likely to break down, the electricity may be cut off, and even if a driverless car is made, the computer is not secure, but it is a car security problem.

So what exactly is a 936? A 908 with new body work and a 935 engine?
@oranges8663 жыл бұрын
pretty much. after all, the 908/80 is a 936 with a fancier name, and 908s were converted into makeshift 936s to make them competitive.
@thethirdman2253 жыл бұрын
Singer actually said it was made from 917 parts that were in storage. The original engine was descended from a 911 turbo they raced in 1974 and that engine was eventually replaced with the 2.65 litre Porsche Indy engine for 1981.
@mbrouder3 жыл бұрын
I've wondered, how many chassis actually have a "936" number on them.
