Approx. 22:30 correction suggestion: The 993 C4 wasn’t any wider as the rwd Carrera. Only the S,4S and turbos had the wider rear (60mm wider to be precise)

Excellent video. I know a thing or two about the RS'ses but have to say that Bob's explanation is too the point, excellent and very informative. It is great to compare the RS with the Clubsport version. Excellent stuff. Congrats to you Bob and Vu. (911motorsport)

Thanks for the fun and rare side-by-side two car comparison of these Flacht built motorsport legends. Would be also helpful to mention the 993 RS originally was outfit with the lower profile and lighter RS America rear spoiler, the CS spoiler was optional to those lucky buyers in '95-96. The decklid insert fit RS America tail is my favorite by far and nod a slightly different homage to the original '70's ducktail but with a modern (period correct) aerodynamic engineered design. Also, please add more B-Reel well-lit close-ups!! These details on these cars is nice to learn about, but you gotta show them up close! I mean, we love you Vu... please get out of the way of the gorgeous beauties behind you and Bob! LOL!! ;) Cheers guys, well done! -M@

Great looking 993s. Thanks for sharing. Bob has great taste. He drove my 993 years ago, except it was in a PCA Club Race. He’s an amazing driver. Should get him to do a race in 2023 so you can film it. He can jump in most anything and finish at the top. Welcome to drive mine again. Fun times.

Excellent narrative and photography. A few suggestions: Would have been desirable to have driven both cars on other than crowded streets and highways-add some twisties and "real driving. Related, I worry about potential accidents and insurance issues with my lowly 993 C4S. No more after this video! Absent an airbag, just wearing a lap belt is potentially very dangerous. I saw the additional harness parts not being used behind the seat. He's a great driver, but many/most around him may not be! German-titled cars. How did that happen to be in MD? Most 993-owners don't care for the sloppiness of factory transmission shifts and get FD's Golden Rod. I added their ssk as well. Better. Do the RS cars have such? Are their shifts inherently improved? Fred

If I were to buy the RS, the first thing I'll do is replace the Clubsport aero package with the original. The original is so much more beautiful and pleasing to the eye, to me anyway. The original whale tail has been carefully redesigned and the front spoilers were subtle, purposeful and elegant. The CS package ruins the lines of the 993.

@Porsche1969 Жыл бұрын
Please, dude: Just avoid using terms like "something was ruined... blah blah blah", because it's totally unappropriate! Porsche made the 993 RS Clubsport for motorsport homologation reasons, and therefore it certainly doesn't earn such stupid terms like "ruined", because all was done for a motorsport purpose. Calling it "ruined" is so fucking stupid and almost insulting against Porsche, dude! What's wrong with you?? The "CS package" makes this 911 version even more special and amazing. By the way: You really have such an annoying opinion like "...the CS package ruins the lines..." very exclusive. Nobody here in Germany would describe a different looking 993 motorsport version by using such a fucking idiotic term like "ruined", because it wasn't "ruined" at all! The rear spoiler looks just DIFFERENT. For todays Porsche standards, because of the huge wing of the new 992 GT3 RS, this big 993 RS CS rear spoiler looks amazing ! Maybe you should "recalibrate" your quite radical "sight of things" about low volume aircooled Porsches... Mr. Trump voter...???! Greetings from Germany

Is there a chance for an episode regarding elastic fuel hoses. It's not possible to order some hoses from Porsche for 944 for example and they use something called DKM connector which is a rounded cone inside, I couldn't find company that has those fittings available, including in Germany. Have you had this problem.

I'm sitting here with a massive grin on my face. What a font of knowledge Bob is! "Let's try the air conditioner" is something I never thought I'd hear while watching a Porsche Carrera RS test drive! LOL. That spartan white behind the seat just screams "Race Car!" I'm trying to imagine the wide-eyed looks of the other drivers as Bob passes them in that bright white 911 with the big ole wing! Is there a valuation on what each of these is worth nowadays?
@PorscheClubofAmerica2 жыл бұрын
Yep, we love Bob. Not quite sure what each are worth nowadays with economy changing so fast. I am sure you could find similar models with pricing on google.🙌
