my father lived at 84 ardgowan st in the early fortys...he told me stories of the nights in the air raid shelters....he then worked for harland wolfe shipyards before coming to america about 1949 or 1950...

My Granda Gibson lived in #7 Argyle St. I remember the wee cornor shop. I can't remember if the name over the shop was called Stevenson's or Stevens. I always thought they should never have torn down those streets. They were good solid buildings. If they had have renovated them instead? I think they would still be standing today. That's how well built they stood!!!
