Port Hedland Fishing the Channel Markers | Smoked Trevally | EP02 | Year 2

Last week up in Hedland before we start trekking south for our annual migration. I get the dinghy out for one last mission before we packup, get a small window of decent weather and get out to try around the channel markers out from the harbour.
I run through my process of smoking fish like the Golden Trevally and then it's packup time and loading everything up to trek south.

Thanks Jed and Kelly.. Typical when you get a tangle you hook up.. the golden trevs pulled the tinny around a bit, good to see.. bet you enjoyed the Spanish flag.. Loving the the drone footage Jed, intro was epic. Those Golden Trevs are really good on the tooth! Something to try re smoker, the tray under the grill, I line with some Alfoil - makes clean up a real treat! 😉, For the marinade, try half soy and brown sugar. The Soy takes the place of the salt. Put it in a plastic container for a couple hours. (A dash of garlic / chillies is always fun as well) 👍💪. A quick spray with the canola oil on the grill bars and the fish can add a touch of delight! 😋Sorry to hear about Kels Gran, Thoughts are with you all ♥🤍New Swag, does it fit under the tinnie? Cheers mate, yeah just wanted to showcase a lil Port Hedland ha. Nice yeah ali foil is a good idea and will definitely try the soy addition 👍👍. Yeah we were able to squeeze the swag under the boat but had to remove the poles out of the bag which seemed to work 🙌. Getting into some diving soon mate?

So hard to pack up mate. I got a good tangled on my reel when i was squiding the other week. I was afraid of loosing my squid jig in the rocks so i cut the line and pulled it in. Had to put new line on my reel. Smoked fish looked delish. Sorry for your loss Kel. Take care and stay safe

Yeah we have packup and setup pretty dialled in these days, our setup is pretty minimal but mostly the boat stuff takes the most time. Did you get a few squid mate? Cheers mate, much appreciated 👍 👍
