Thank you so much Eddie, many hours and years on the water. We have a members area were we share spots and marks to get members onto the fish which might be of help.

Shark fishing is fun, though all mine have gone back. First thing I caught on my dedicated shark rod was probably at least 2.5 meter 7 giller. Well longer than my boat is wide. Couldn't get it on board.

Yep, we also lost 2 others and one of them pretty much spooled me, just the gopro 10 has a habit of freezing and overheating like crazy so lost that

i find gillers so annoying when Im out there chasing big gummies in WP haha. They take your fresh bait and takes ages to bring up cause they fight hard and grow pretty big!

Great video Alan. We're based in NSW and frequently target mulloway from the beach. I typically use 50 - 80 lb leader and 8/0 - 10/0 circle hooks and find any whaler shark over 1m bites me off on the first run with nylon leader. How in the Heavens were you using conventional "J-hooks" hooking 100 Kg plus seven gill sharks (and a big bronzie) without getting bitten off? What leader were you blokes using? That rig is pretty similar to what we use for mulloway, and for the same reasons.

What do you do with the hooks? Just cut the line and say catchya later?

Yeah, it was a bit tiring thats for sure. We had to take turns on one of the big 7 gillers that tested us for a good 25 minutes. Great fun though thats for sure

Hi Allen. Great video mate . How deep was the water you were fishing in ? . I was near Sorrento recently an was struggling to anchor. First time fishing near the heads an found it hard to to reach the bottom . I’m a new boater an was a lot different to the Werribee south I’m used too

Fishing in exactly 10 meters deep, We have added some marks and suggestions in our members reports which might be helpful for you. Yeah its very different to the top end of PPB which has almost zero current. Really have to pick your days and right moments. We fished this spot specifically because of the full moon and slow tides which usually can be hard to fish at.

Great fishing mate, always a good day when you upload. I’m thinking about getting a new reel as my Daiwa d shock is a 2000 size reel which makes me pay the price for getting snagged and my Jarvis walker Volcano is a 3500 reel but the anti reverse system has broken. I’m thinking of getting a Okuma Safina 3000 as there cheap and I don’t need expensive gear. What are your thoughts and any tips?! (Sorry for writing a whole narrative, just wanted to give all the info) 👍😊🎣
@fishingmad2 жыл бұрын
Glad to hear you enjoying the content. Thanks for watching as always. At that price point the Okuma Safina is perfectly fine. If you could stretch your budget a tad than things like a Daiwa Aird 2000 would also be great, espcially when they are on sale

Hi Alan. Great video I’m also trying to do a bit of shark fishing as well. Do u think twin power 4000 with 30lb Barid can be use in shark fishing or I need to go for heavier gear ? Thank you
@fishingmad2 жыл бұрын
Hi Joseph, it would probably just do the job, but you would be at high risk of losing the shark if it was a decent size one. Anything smaller then a meter no problems, anything bigger could be trickly. I just bought a sustain 5000 and am trialing that on sharks at the moment.
