That generator will actually run your whole house just fine. The 30 amp breaker will be your limiting factor but don't make the mistake of assuming that you have to add up all those other breakers. Those are only rated to protect the wiring. You're actually only using a tiny amount of their rated capacity at any given time usually. I run my whole house off a 5500 watt generator and a 30 amp breaker. Mine is installed correctly though, with an outside inlet box wired to a dedicated breaker and an interlock installed on my panel to prevent the main and generator breaker from being on at the same time. Just don't try to run everything at once and you'll be fine. I have had every light in the house on, computer, tv's, etc with no issues.

That generator will run all those breakers just fine. Just take consideration what you're running in the house. At the least you should not use a double make cord, rather use a dedicated two pole breaker in the panel as a back feed and either hardwire it to the cord that plugs into the generator or use a proper receptacle and cord system. Of course, the Gen breaker should be safety interlocked with the main breaker but if you can't do that start the Gen first and then be sure to ALWAYS turn the main breaker off BEFORE turning on the Gen breaker. When restoring power after the utility comes back on turn the Gen breaker off first before turning the main back on then turn the Gen off. [This gives the Gen time to warm up a little and cool down after use.] ALEAYS in that order. Morons should not do the last part. Even if you did leave the main on and turned the Gen breaker on with it running, it would instantly pop the gen breaker due to trying to power the whole neighborhood and if you connected the Gen running to an active utility it would also just pop the Gen breaker due to phase variance.

25 ohms or less to ground, not legnth. If you are in sandy soil, may take 20-30' into ground to achieve that spec ....

Why not just buy a dryer plug and put it on the end of that cable vs soldering 2 cables?
