This is a very nice comparison video. Great cooktops for boiling water. I got one question that you might be able to answer: about simmering. When using a low power setting e.g. 100 Watts (at 13.15 mins in your video) do all these cooktops switch the element on and off at full power for a few seconds? (like I heard from others) Or do some of them actually deliver a constant 100 or 300 watts? So does any of the portables do a good job for simmering? I greatly appreciate your reaction.

Doesn’t the Burton have an 8” copper coil but others only have 6”?

Great for a Percolator and a pressure cooker pot. I also use it to cook vegetables when I'm grilling on the BBQ.

Do you resell them, why do you have so many?

I've had two and besides being flame free and efficient energy wise, I'll probably never buy one again because I've yet to come across any that doesn't beep - nor have the option to mute the sounds, and they don't allow pans to get preheat super hot enough for some of the cooking I do before it throws an error message at me.

I have a Max Burton 6000 portable induction cooktop that I bough back in 2012. I really didn't use it much until last year. Then today I heated some water with it and noticed a burning plastic smell that at first I thought was the pan, turns out the smell was coming from the induction cooktop. I can't find any information about the company or how to fix it, so I'm probably going to end up opening it up to take a look. Maybe it's past it's useful life and I'll have to buy a new one, but I was hoping to keep this one working. Any suggestions?

does the fan work properly?

@@musicteacha Yes. It's not doing it anymore so I think it was the new pan.

Cast iron works on induction cookers. As should carbon steel.
