@@shayleebrady8101 don't worry u will be fine.. But first find a good doctor who has a good mind and who can give a holistic treatment. Beware of those multispeciality superspeciality hospitals & their doctors with crooked minds. The condition will recur once again when you probably reach 30yrs something. So be armed with a good medical facility setup. But don worry u will be fine.

My friend died last week because of this. 💔 He was hospitalised for three weeks. I remember he was given that heparin in the ICU. His abdomen was already bloated he said it's because of the accumulated air. They said he may be discharge next week during our visit then all of a sudden we received a text that he already died. 💔 His sister tell us that the doctor said it's because the accumulated blood clot reached his lungs. 😭

Thank you for explaining.. I just have a question. What's the difference in the clinical presentation between acute and chronic portal vein thrombosis.??.. There's an MCQ question that says:How can a portal vein thrombosis patient present? -Hepatic infarction -Cholestasis -Acute hepatitis -Hematemesis. So, what's the correct answer??

Hello, thank you for your video. It is amazing. Just one doubt in Uworld it says that ascites is not present in hepatic vein thrombosis. I am a little bit confused.
@MedicosisPerfectionalis4 жыл бұрын
This video is talking about portal vein, not hepatic vein.
@mohibali25523 жыл бұрын
Actually i Think you may have written it wrong here. In Uworld it says that ascites is uncommon in PV thrombosis since sinusoidal HTN does not develop. Im confused too about this

@@kavithanagaraj7627 hi I am from bangalore too... My mom had a similar condition and she had a near death experience. Luckily one of the doctor (living god I can say) saved her by assessing her condition and did a spleno-renal shunt. She was saved and after that she lived with me happily for the next 35 years with regular consultations and medicines until COVID-2021 situation once again elevated her liver condition. Unfortunately covid didn't kill her but the doctors killed her with all sorts of illeterate treatments and surgery. I lost my beloved mom in July, 2021. Don't worry since you are very young it can be treated but u or someone has to take good care about urself after the time u reach 60yrs.. Be positive and cultivated good eating habits and healthy lifestyle.

Excellent question...Remember, ascites could be due to hypoalbuminemia or increased hydrostatic pressure.
@MedicosisPerfectionalis6 жыл бұрын
So, in portal vein thrombosis, the most important cause of ascites is increased hydrostatic pressure.

I had a rex shunt, the surgery consists of taking one of his jugular veins from his neck to bypass blood around the clot into the liver. This surgery takes around 5-6 hours sometimes more, mine went for 9 hours 😊 I was born with PVT and had the shunt when I was 8 I am now 14 almost 15 and doing great although I am slowing getting some complications with other Heath problems he will be much better after he gets a surgery to fix it :) i’m no doctor and I could be wrong but I’m only going from my scary experience
