Thumbs up for those people who are still genius and skillful enough to build and play these wonderful and demanding instruments today.

What a mystical sound this instrument makes, it's totaly different from the sound of larger organs, and because of the not fixed wind pressure (actaly regulated with the pumping hand) far more expressive.

I want to build a pipe organ but this would be a good thing to start crafting, plus the sound would satisfy my medieval love
@donotcare3303 жыл бұрын
Just make sure you opt for pipes with high lead content. so you get that "Dark" sound.

Alejandro Massó. Marcus Stahl, master Renaissance and Middle Ages Organ maker, with workshop in Dresden, is by far the best positive and organetti maker in our time. Anequaled voicing, without possible equivalent for centuries, enhances the mystery of each note. It calls out tears in every audition. A solid reference in the 21st Century.

If a flute, Duduk, senza vibrato strings and pipes had offspring, this would be it. It’s expressive and haunting.

A breathy sound. It is a welcome difference with the 'normal' organs. They are loud and harsh in my opinion.

I made the ones you see:www.marcus-stahl-orgelbauer.com But there are some other builders as well. Just get informellen and come back if you wish.

Thanks for your quick response. I was trying to see on your website where is the option to see the prices and buy one but I didn't find it, could you please help me?

Casa Kundalini Yoga Sat Nam I only make instruments by commission, therefore in the upper price-range. If you feel like it, further inquiry via marcus. stahl@web.de

@MarcusStahl4 жыл бұрын
Gracias.

Wonderful! Is it cone-tuned? (Does that hold forever?) Is the lowest pipe there a "3' G" or so? Is the "keyboard" close to standard sized (it looks like it might feel a little "large?")
@MarcusStahl3 жыл бұрын
It is cut to length. And g, yes. Keyboard is just standard width.

@@MarcusStahl I'd imagine they'd sound more like a recorder ensemble in that case. Am I correct?
@MarcusStahl5 жыл бұрын
No. Recorder sound is better imitated with stopped pipes. As you can hear in my vids of the Chartres portative.

@@MrInitialMan, in fact, making a convincing portative organ is something of a task, even for experienced builders.

What kind of pipes are you using on this little guy?
@mrcheese39816 жыл бұрын
Very beautifully played. I'm intrigued by the pitch standard you're using? Is it A 415 Hz? Aren't most reproduction Medieval instruments made to a modern pitch standard?
@MarcusStahl6 жыл бұрын
This one is 465. Sometimes 440 is used, 415 only for baroque music.

@@MarcusStahl May I ask why 465? It must be difficult to play with other musicians?
