Looks like soft punky wood. Any saw could run threw garbage

It was actually pre-cut and we packed the cut with sawdust and a little Elmer's glue so it held together enough to make this garbage saw look like it could cut decent... but you got me man good for you... I should probably shut down shop and hang it up... I have been outed by you... the guy that knows saws better than anyone... im ashamed

@@johnscustomsaws I’ll be waiting. What chain did you have on the 881? It looked a little slow. Don’t take that the wrong way. It ripped! When it comes to a saw it’s all about the chain. My buddy has a ported 661 and my stock 661 cuts circles around him cuz I know how to make a good work chain.
@johnscustomsaws2 жыл бұрын
@@bryanmarks4070 no I totally understand what u mean... its semi chisel do not even a square corner on the cutter... much less square ground lol... its not fast chain and with the round cutter its crazy it even cuts at all... but its meant to stay "sharp" longer... I looked around but I couldn't find a 404 chisel chain... on most the other saws I run square ground full skip and have a couple race chains that will make any saw look lightening fast
@bryanmarks40702 жыл бұрын
@@johnscustomsaws we’ll that’s impressive then. semi-chisel is what we run on our first out saw when we’re cutting line on fires. Mostly cutting brush for 16 hours lol. The chain will still bucks or fall a tree if needed. We don’t have time to stop and sharpen chain every time the tip hits the dirt on accident or Cutting 12’ tall dust covered brush wears out chain. Semi-chisel has its place. But nothing beats full chisel square ground. Thanks for the reply John. I’m excited to post falling videos on fires this summer stay tuned. Would be better if I had a JCS ported 661 tho haha.

Hey I has asked you about the 880 that I have. I took it apart and my piston was wore and loose in the bore. I have 4 small chips in the nikisil playing below the exhaust port. It’s an older 880 with the clip on muffler and the cylinder kits are no longer available from Stihl. Can I smooth the chips and put in a new piston or can they be converted to the new style cylinder. Thanks man keep it up.
