I remember this song when I was a little boy ,, I would put cover over my face and think what it must be like to be dead ,, I would hold my breath as long as I could ,, and then raise up ,,, I knew even as a child that real dead people that the light by the grave ,, it would not work ,, that people had to have the real light of God in there lives in order to never die ..and me seven years old ..I Love Porter and Dolly ..so much ,,,God bless both of them , I ask God to bless the dead in body ,, God can bless us alive in the flesh or even after we have passed from the body of flesh and moved over to the other world of spirit ,,, God can pass between these two worlds ,,, Love Porter and Dollys music ,, always have ..

My family has been country music lovers since we were children.. Back then the real music singers we knew were JimReeves Charlie Pride and these 2 iconic singers.. My younger brother went on to be a very good guitarist and an.outstanding singer.. I remember all the lovely times we got together and had country music sing alongs and their songs was enjoyed by all.. Sadly my brother passed away last but he lives on in.our hearts and we listen to beautiful voice in his music that was recorded

I watched this show when I was a kid with my parents. We seldom missed an episode. You forget how good this show was or how well the music was even 50 years later. Dolly Parton became a superstar under Porter Wagoner. I think Dolly Parton helped make Porter Wagoner a whole lot better too. I wish television shows were made like this today. Country music like this has been the only music I have liked all of my life.

Nope. Dolly extended Porters career. His show would have sunk years earlier, if not for Dolly being on it. Besides that, nearly all the folks that knew him, with the exception of Dolly, said he was an a$$hole. Think he tried to get into her pants for years and couldn’t. Really pissed him off.

I'm trying to get the Porter Wagner and Dolly Parton because it was my late Mum and her sister best song ever from the old records back in the seventies
