I bought one of these off of Amazon for $70 before I saw this video. Didn't find any quality issues like the loose casing screws or anything. It cuts smoothly. Came with 6 blades! My take is if you're a professional carpenter or really into wood working and would be using this saw constantly then you're probably better off buying something higher quality as Catus suggests. But, if your just looking for a cheap saw to get a home improvement project done and only plan occasional use of the product afterwards then this is a great saw. Oh, the laser worked on it too!

Thanks for not being afraid of saying bad products are bad (lot of sponsored videos or videos with products provided by a company tend to give a gentle review).

It would be intresting to break apart a Bauer or Porter-Cable version of the saw to see if the price difference is due to slightly better internals.

Licht is German for light so I assume they put some German labels on to give the impression it's a German company. I see that a bit on sellers name on Amazon.

well lot of cheaper german products are simple generic chinese items that are simply finished and packaged in germany.

Interesting. Think you could modify it to make it work for you? Tighten it down and such?

Dude, I made the mistake of buying a TackLife 7.5" sidewinder...looked cool and I just needed a beater...the shoe wouldn't lock in place enough to even convince me to make one cut before sending it back

What do you think about the Dewalt 4 1/2 compact cordless saw? Can you do a video on the Dewalt version please?

The saw says: "Corner of Valley Blvd and Hurley St" right on the side. So is that where they park the creepy van with a desk in it? You know, behind the 7-11... O_o

Great video. I’m not a professional but have been looking at mini circular saws and I’m very tempted by the Dewalt dcs571, also since I already own a couple of cordless Dewalt 18V XR machines. I had a few of those cheap mini circular saws on wishlist but my concern was exactly on the points you raised on this video. Money badly waisted. A pity I’m trying to buy dcs571 (online, Europe) for a couple of weeks without success, the few stores that stock it won’t ship it to my address... :( edit: you didn’t mention WORX... aren’t they the same?

This saw is quite comical. I have a feeling they won't be bothering you to do any more tool reviews lol. This is why I trust your reviews, you are going to tell it like it is, good, bad or ugly. Great job!!

Hello, I wish I had bought a 314 back in the eighties when I looked at them. Now worn out junk ones on Ebay are way more than they were new back then--three or four times! Don't have a need for one that often but when you are doing siding they are nice. Have you ever looked at one of those counter rotating twin blade circular saws that look much like that one you have? The motor looks to be the same style. I don't feel they would be worth the gamble as I first saw them on late night TV but now a few companies have them. Once again I am not quite sure exactly what they are better at other than being a gimmick. Nice review. Doug

They are called double blade saws and I have the Chicago electric The drawback to that saw is it doesn't have a proper shue. It's great for cutting sheets of steel plastic or aluminum or wood It will also cut copper steel pipe and you never have any kick back. I'm impressed on how long the blades last. They are kind of pricey as a set will 24.99 at Harbor Freight The more steel you go through the faster you'll go through the hlades, not so much threw the softer metals and plastics. This would be my go-to tool if I had to whreck a old fiberglass boat or a sheet metal pole barn or roof. Or a roughneck trim saw What will amaze you is there is no kickback whatsoever and you can go cut ether way with no kickback so what makes a great plung saw into any material except rock or glass They do not make double diamond blades for this saw It's a specialty tool more than a go to all tool.

Hello again Catus Maximus Thank you for the Great Video. I probably would have bought this tool. Use it once, and take it back to get my money back! That tool looks very unsafe, I am surprised, that someone has not started a lawsuit yet? Thank you again

You stated that the Dewalt unit was heavy duty. Do you consider that one to be a unit that would last longer? Do you think that it is worth the money for that unit?

It seems the rotorazor saw is not the first to do this type of saw. someone bought me a rotorazor saw Platnum for my birthday the other day, and honestly it seems like a worthwhile tool but I do feel that it's overpriced. I will say that minus the annoying safety features the QC is definitely better than these seem to have. It seems solid enough, it's just a bit gimmicky and is not the do all little saw they're making it out to be.

I grabbed the hyper tough one for 40 bucks. I put a diablo blade on it and I actually really like the little saw. I think I’ll get a DeWalt cordless one someday.

I won't say which brand I was really on the edge for buying, but I'm going to back to huddle on this and am just going to stay with my old Craftsman or Skil 7'n quarter. I think you saved me 79.99 and a trip to Low... nevermind ;) Oh yeah, I bet whoever sent you that... "saw" didn't see the autopsy that you did, coming. LOL

They can't raise the price any higher than it already is because the Milwaukee 5 1/2" version is $150 and way better than any of these models including the dewalt one. They will never be able to compete with any good brands. The only down fall with the Milwaukee is the batteries are very expensive and you will need at least a 4ah to run it at it's full potential, i would recommend the 6ah from personal experience.

For whatever it’s worth my Dad used to refer to the older Porter Cable saw you call a Trim Saw as a paneling Saw ? when he got older and we didn’t realize he was suffering fromParkinsons or at least the beginning of it he downsized his Circular saws to that smaller Porter Cable oil filled and around that time i was using a 12 Volt Dewalt battery powered setup i tried to talk him into buying as well and for some reason a salesman talked him into buying the Mikita 9.6 volt way underpowered setup and outdated inthe ln the late 1990s that he eventually admitted i was correct and he wasted his money on now i buy those corded saws branded by many names and call them my throwaway saws but are convienent for breaking down sheet goods for the table saw final dimensioning ironically i often wind up with a Wen branded one because of the low cost and high availability online years ago Wen wasn’t a bad name in power tools but the new stuff isn’t that company any longer but i’ve found okay for some things like that saw and the rotary tool i found works almost as well as my genuine branded Dremel that i paid way more than $19,99 that the Wen cost on Ebay

The Rockwell is complete junk. The blade is flexible & wanders. It couldn't cut a straight line in any material. Rockwell customer service could care less. I have a Kobalt 24V compact that works perfect.
