Porter Embraer E2 Trip Report YYZ-YYC Is It Worth The Hype ?

This flight was taken on an air transat codeshare after landing in from CDG on there Airbus A330. Porter is often one of the world’s most hyped up airlines often touted to have one if the best economy service out there as they are also famous for there years of Q400 operations out of billy bishop airport. They have ambitious expansion plans and will be interesting to see if they can take on the huge size if Air Canada and Westjet with there substantial orders for 75 E195-E2 aircraft.

Thank you for the nice review. I have flown on their E2 before but did not like them as much. I'm not a fan of the misaligned, windows and very tight overhead bins. I found the seat pitch in the classic to be very tight. I feel these aircraft and not configured adequately for the long routes flown in Canada. I have experienced better legroom on Lynx Air. I really have only had worse legroom on, in recent years configured, TAP Air, Lufthansa, Austrian short hauls, as well as GoAir in India. In my extensive air travel over many years, I've never experienced my feet being that cold on a flight. I'm not sure if the crew just set the temperature that way or it has something to do with the way the airflow works on this aircraft type. Yes, I like travelling in slides. But I did like the headrests, the quietness of the cabin. It's also never bad to add a new acro type to your repertoire.

So you totally left out that complimentary beer and wine is served in an actual glass. The food Porter has for purchase is of a way higher quality than anything you'd be able to purchase on Flair or WestJet. This was a very poor review. You need to dive way further into the product than you did to give a fair review.

I guess we choose the most common seats. People still have to sit in them, no? I like reviews that select the common seats. Those are the ones that I mostly will fly on 80% of the flying public. Yes, sometimes I will fly premium cabins and expectations would be higher

@@cndam when someone who don’t fits there, choose it anyway, must be a reason, and you did it, even being part of a minority that its too tall for 30’ seats.

@@fabios.253 yes. I would generally agree with you. The thing is, I never said I didn't fit. I'm 1.8m and athletic. 30 inches is not great whichever which way we want to spin it. Especially for the long Canadian flights. I fly a lot. Like sometimes six times a month. I've had far worse on mainline European carriers these days on intra-European flights. It still doesn't make this great.

@@fabios.253 I suppose every review is subjective. Some will say excellent and others say awful. It's all opinion and personal experiences, so I will always try something myself. When I first flew them, I was hyped by their marketing. And yes, I was disappointed. And it's not just one thing. It just is what it is and we have choice. All airlines have shortcomings. It's all depends which rank higher do your personal experience. Just like I prefer the IFE on air Canada's 737s, ambient lighting, the newer cabin and many other things, but I don't value those enough to place that aircraft preference above the tired and old a320 series aircraft they have (they are retrofitting them 😊). I suggest people try things and see what works for them. I have enjoyed many things that others have reviewed as horrible.
