This song immediately made me think of my girlfriend and I and it hit me like a truck, never has a song made me cry and it made me cry so much I had to replay it. yeah I get that. and of course Porter can't make a song about a breakup with another person and put it in his album even if he really had one. I didn't know anything about Porter and the first time I listened to it the lyrics fit so well with my broken heart, especially the "so at last, goodbye, I'll be happy just to have known you" part, I always cry because that's something that I know I will have to say but don't dare say until all hopes for being back to where we were are gone. and I thought it's someone saying goodbye to someone they used to love, I didn't know it meant death, and I always carry my own understanding for it despite everyone else saying it's for his girlfriend because this song hits so hard with my personal feelings it's the only place I can cry and feel someone is with me on my feelings. I just can't let it go T_T
