i made this out of curiosity. after reading some comments - really want to emphasize that if you like this then pleaseee stream the original song. if you want to download this then Buy the original song!!! this is strictly for people who were curious to hear what it Might sound like with nurture vocals. doesn't make it anywhere near as good as the original.

This comparison made me appreciating original even more because all this "nurture type" vocals came from Porter either not enjoying his vocal performance or portraying this mental state before accepting himself (I dont remember exactly, please correct me if im wrong). So in this context Cheerleader acts like a piece where he, again, finally feels confident about himself and that puts a smile on my face

i wholeheartedly agree. it's exactly what this is for. 'tis not to be enjoyed XD sumn i also noticed while making this was that It's really hard to get it to sound 100% nurture because most of those vocals were quiet, shy & intimate then pushed in post he's 10000x more confident with his singing in cheerleader. this is louder, more direct, and he isn't afraid to say what he's thinking - which is why the verses (aside from the artifacts on my part) sound a little off. you really hear the most 'nurture' during the bridge before the last chorus when he's singing quietly.

thank you XD i didn't use much of a chain on this because i used AI to separate the vocals from the instrumental. porter's vocal mix pretty much carried. i used flex pitch on logic , pitched it up an octave, and formant shifted upwards of around 200 units. EQd out excessive highs & lows then layered with original formant during some sections.

It honestly could sound pretty cool like this too but I think the problem is just the key he wrote the song in, it's a lot more optimized for his un-octaved voice. When it's up the octave it goes up to like G5 at the chorus which is way higher than anything that was on nurture and it's a little too out there lol

i agree. i think the verses sound alright but the chorus sucks with the nurture chain. was gonna keep the original pitch for the chorus but this isn't necessarily made to be listened to for pleasure. the OG vocals are incredible & his range is insane on the original song
