Porting a Rovan 45cc Baja 5B - Part 2 │ 1/5 Scale RC

This is the second part to the EZR45 /Rovan 45cc Ported engine.
Some install parts and some air filter trouble solving.
Motor performed very well with some wheelie popping torque.

If you are buying a Rovan motor I suggest building your own motor. Take 36 crank case and crank then put a 32cc head and piston on top with 1x paper head gasket. 💪🏼💪🏼 Chag Sameach 📯

Hello there. These filters do not want to be oiled at all. The customer oiled it, got blocked completely, and I had to wash it with fuel to get it to breathe again.

What is the best carburetor for that 45cc to have more top end speed?

Good Day. To be honest I am not 100% sure. Personally I would think biggest is better. Like th 1107/1191 has big venturies, but I am a big fan of the 990/813. For me I have not seen any lack from these two with the bigger engines. The 45cc has very low RPM's no matter what you do though. So I would suggest gearing up to 20/54 if its on a Baja.

I installed a velocity stack and a UFO carbon filter and the baja wouldn't run... it did not like it installed the stock air filter and boom perfect again

Yeah, somehow need to run it in perfect clean conditions without oil on.

It all depends on application and desire. We had some engine failures due to heat issues but if you look after it there is a lot of torque here. If you want RPM then rather go smaller or Zenoah.

We have built a new Rovan Engine that will give a lot more Playtime than the 45. Get the XLT but with the 36 single ring engine. Then remove 0.8mm off the bottom of the cylinder. 💪power house

Of course it won't start without choke. It's not getting fuel lmao. Learn how to tune a carb it keeps running lean on the low side. Turning the screw out lets in more fuel. Turning it in lets in less fuel. Same with the H side

It was actually being flooded, but mostly the Rovan 1191 Carb gave us plenty stick. The stock 668/997 does a better job at 30% less cost.

This is the KM Ruler Pro Pipe. Works on most engines. We recommend the Rovan Dominator Gen 2 - Also called the Dragonfly for the 32cc and above.

I have not bought a 45cc recently. So i don't know if Rovan made any improvements. If you can get your hands on a King Motor 30.5cc REV motor it will be a good upgrade or if you want more get a Zenoah G320

@@eduardocapaneli1141 here is your problem kzbin.info/www/bejne/nmnMY5uJiZV3hZY. That motor needs to go to an engineering shop to fix the compression issue. You can also cut away on the topside of the crank case to bring the cylinder down. I have had some out the box from Rovan perform better than others and I think it can be done by #1 removing the base/cylinder gasket and then if you feel confident, open the exhaust port sideways(not top or bottom), making sure to leave plenty space for the ring gap side.

We personally prefer a 34 or 36cc. The 45 is pure torque but the smaller motors still out performs them.
