This is the jam session of the 90's. Every track is absolutely mind blowing. Fire. Listen to the whole album. It's very chill like sitting in your smoking jacket and drinking a martini...shaken, not stirred.

Portishead together with Massive Attack and Tricky were the founders of the brief Bristol trip hop genre. Shame it didn't last longer

Don't tell Tricky, he's still working! Actually, last year he released "Maxinquaye Reincarnated" a 3LP remix/remaster of one of the best Trip Hop albums of all time with some new tracks added.

Never liked Tricky's album. Portishead still reign supreme over all three bands for me just for their vibe and more ear-pleasing music style

Loads of people have used this instrumental which is Isaac Hayes song Ike’s Rap. Tricky (Hell Is Round The Corner), Alessia Cara (Here), Timbaland and Magoo (Beep Beep) are three.

my cousin worked on the multimedia aspects of this album, (sorta one of the earlier cd album releases with extra content attached...it's kinda "so what", now, but at the time it was a little ground breaking lol). It's still one of my favourite concerts to listen to, and i think you'll enjoy listening to some more tracks from this performance. Roads, sour times are a couple that spring to mind

Portishead (pronounced portis-head, not porti-shade) used a sample from Isaac Hayes for their original album, that's why it sounds familiar., even though it's played live here.

Check out Tricky's Karma Coma. Bristol Trip Hop is a mini Brit version of Seattle Grunge, several great albums came out of that city.

Only three albums from them, and not a duff track to be heard. You honestly can't go wrong with any song, but top of my recommendations would be Roads, Mourning Air and The Rip. She also made a superb album in collaboration with Paul Webb (of the band Talk Talk, going by the pseudonym Rustin Man), called Out Of Season. Again, it's all top quality, starting with the beautiful opening song Mysteries. And this year she finally released her first solo album, Lives Outgrown, which is, quelle surprise, also brilliant. The single Floating In A Moment is amazing. She's made one other record, a very unexpected recording of a 20th century classical piece, Henryk Gorecki's third symphony. That's bloody good too! Incidentally, Portishead (named after a town in the west of England near Bristol, home of Trip-Hop) is pronounced "portiss-head".
