This is a review with modeling of the PLG Envelope Crossbody in Cognac. I bought the Almost Perfect version and it arrived flawless except for a couple of inconspicuous scars.

Scratches can be easily rubbed out of the Cognac leather.
Empty envelope weight with crossbody strap: 13 ounces
Empty envelope weight without crossbody strap: 10.4 ounces
Envelope with my stuff in it: 1 lb 2 oz
Also, the wristlet strap is removable (snap button)!

Hi! New subscriber today…I’m new to PLG and created a wishlist, still can’t decide what I want because I want all the bags! But I am getting ready for a trip and can’t decide between a tote bag or backpack. Would love to see your collection and your thoughts on totes and backpacks or the larger crossbody bags? But I would be happy with any review of any piece…I want to build my collection soon and have been avoiding mystery boxes to avoid getting to many unicorns and bright colors. Hi Arlene! Thanks so much for watching and subscribing :) Happy New Year to you too! I have also avoided mystery boxes because I’m very picky and usually want specific features in my bags. I plan on doing a review of my tote backpack next. For travel and day trips, I’d definitely recommend the tote backpack in a pebbled leather (less stiff than smooth leather) because it holds about as much as a medium cb tote but it’s so comfortable since it distributes weight evenly on your back. I’d pair the envelope crossbody, small circle or mesa with it… mesa/circle if you need a bit more space but envelope if you want something with a slim profile that can even be zipped under a coat or jacket for security. I love that the envelope can also double as a clutch or just a wallet inside any larger bag. I would love to get an oversized tote one day but that would be more for hotel stays or as a bonus weekend bag. I wouldn’t use it while actually sightseeing and walking a lot on a trip because I prefer backpacks and crossbodies for that purpose. And while I love my full sized crossbody tote and mini cb, I don’t think I’d take them on a trip unless it was for city travel. Hope this helps!

Yes I was thinking the tote crossbody and bring a smaller bag also for under the jacket…great minds think alike! So many choices! But I am trying to focus on work bag and travel pieces first otherwise I will amass a huge collection like I did with Coach when I was younger and end up with a mountain of unused bags. Hi, and welcome! I actually like both, for different looks :) Pebbled leathers look more casual and coldbrew specifically is really great at hiding scratches. The smooth leathers are definitely more dressy. I really like the leathers that have variation too (slight pebbling and sometimes smooth in certain areas), like eucalyptus, satsuma and mulberry. Grizzly is a very dark, true brown. It is darker and doesn’t have the reddish undertones of Cognac as seen in this envelope cb.

So cute I almost bought one of those the other day , thanks for your video I do have a question I recently got my first tote it’s from a mystery box , do you know if Portland leather gets water stains from the rain I don’t want a bag I have to baby my bag but I also don’t want to damage my one and only PLG bag it’s a medium zippered tote in Plum so it’s pebbled leather anyway if you know please let me know thanks

You’re welcome! That’s awesome, a plum tote sounds gorgeous! 👌🏽When asked, one PLG employee said that since the bags are full grain leather, they are weather-proof. Rest assured 😌 I have walked in heavy rain with my honey tote and it dried just fine
