I have updated the Celeste package to version 3. This adds things like a First Time Setup screen, Fixes to the bugged main menu, and a few FNA3D updates. Thank you to @harrymcneill6495 for pointing out this update.

Hey! it looks like you are using the Celeste package v2, just letting you know johnny on flame released a V3 in the portmaster discord, and this fixes the graphical glitches and adds a proper loading screen on first boot, so it might be worth linking to that package file in the description? otherwise great video thanks for this! also i think that the v3 is meant to be less device specific in its sh file

Guessing this isn't from stalk os right? Could have mentioned that. Can't find anything about adding ports to stalk os, and last time i changed OS on my last handheld, GarlicOS randomly started crashing after only a few weeks. Had to order a new handheld. I'm to ignorant to figure any of this stuff out, and everyone seems tobuse tech language when explaining, making it twice as hard for anyone who isn't tech literate. At least i can now tell if a video is talking about some other OS, or stalk just by looking at the screen.

I get a black screen for a couple of seconds when I press Splore.p8 and then nothing happens... : ( Been looking through the web and there is some tinkering with the files we get from the raspberry, but followed all steps and same result. Any clues? :(

@@Ankjell are you definitely connected to the internet? Sometimes MuOS shows as connected but isn’t, does portmaster work to download stuff? If not you might not be connected

Make sure you have the Pico 8 external core selected. Do this by pressing the select button while you have the Splore.p8 file highlighted. Then go to Pico 8 and choose the external one. Harrymcneill's comment is also something to look into making sure the wifi is fully connected.

How are the Runtimes installed in portmaster?? I downloaded some ports directly from the portmaster app, such as GTA 3, GTA vice city and Fallout 1 and 2, when I wanted to play them from the emulator part, the games was in the list along with some other ports, when selecting it to Play them it doesn't open, the screen goes black and from there it returns to the list of port roms. I installed all the runtimes from the app connected to the internet like you did, but I notice that on the portmaster page there are runtimes that are not in the app to download from the internet. I downloaded them and paste them inside the folder of Portmaster /Runtime, but didt appear on the list of the runtimes on internet like the video. What can I do? Since when you open the SD card, in the PORTS roms folder, the files are there, but there are no run times. Thank you!

Games that require copyrighted material like the ones in the video you will need to supply your own files. Each game is going to need to be done differently. You can see the instructions for each game at the website portmaster.games then look for the game you are trying to install.

I should be able to upload it later, But I did not make any changes to it. It would be the same as if you just did an reinstall of Sonic Mania from Portmaster.

How do you know which games work? Can Street Fighter 4 work?

The only games that will work are ones that have been ported over by a dedicated community of nice people. You can see a large list with most of them listed here: portmaster.games/games.html There are still some not on the list like the full version of Celeste. Street Fighter 4 is not likely something that will get ported to these devices. A little too resource demanding.

I have spent the afternoon trying to install Celeste following this video and I’ve been unsuccessful. I get to the first time setup screen and I get a message saying: terminate called after throwing an instance of ‘st What (): std : : bad_alloc ../repack.src. line 18: 2704 Aborted Repacking textures… And then it crashes. If anyone knows what’s going on, let me know

Have not see that error before. Are you on muOS? if so what version and what device? All I can think of to do is to re-download the files. Both the game files and the Celeste zip file from the description then also reinstall the Mono runtime from the Portmaster runtime Manager.

@@PhyrexTechs Thanks for the reply. Yes, I am on MuOS v 2405.1 REFRIED BEANS. I am using the RG35xxSP. I have tried reloading the files several times but I can try again. From the little bit of research I have done, it seems to be a problem with the RAM...possibly the install process is exceeding the RAM on the device. Not sure why that's happening. It's a huge bummer because I love the game and I'd love to see it run on the device

Not sure if it would change anything buy you could try to upgrade to the newest version ( Baked Beans). You don't have to re-flash so its an easy upgrade. I'll see if I can find anything else on it.

Thanks so much for your help. I actually did go ahead a re-flash. Updated to Baked Beans. Reloaded files. And…same error message. So depressing. All the same-I want to thank you for your work on these videos. They’re excellent
