As always, I really enjoyed watching you use these materials. I started four years ago with the Virtual Instructor website and began learning from you. Now, I watch Getting Sketchy on You Tube and the weekly live demonstrations at the Virtual Instructor website. Your methods have enabled me to do work that I would never have thought possible. Thank you again for all you do. This charcoal demonstration is first class.

This is beautiful. I am also an artist. Not nearly as good, but I keep at it. I make videos now, but I like how you teach. Thank you for passing on your knowledge. I just found your channel. :)

So very cool. I'm thinking about getting in to art like my mother but she is a very talented painter, and I for some reason would like to dabble in charcoal! Keep making and ill keep watching and learning =)

I love how the portrait progresses from a rough sketch where you’re finding the features to such a beautiful and polished end piece! I’ve just started using charcoal and I was wondering what paper you are using? Thanks for all the great content you provide 😊

Dear Matt, you did the portrait in just about an hour? It looks so fantastic and as always, your work is very teaching. The details of your finished artwork are always a great asset in comparison to the foto you are working from for teaching reasons. You do encourage ans inspire! So happy to be with The Virtual Instructor. See you here on Getting Sketchy or in the Membership Live Lesson. Buddy

Great information! So, when your finished the art piece, how do we protect the art? Do we frame it with a glass face or?
@meganhunter26063 ай бұрын
Yes. It is best to frame works on paper to protect the paper. You can 'fix' your charcoal drawing with a fixative you can buy at an art store, or, as we used to do as poor art students, fix it with hairspray.

Lovely job just a couple small areas not quite as I would think they needed to be , the eye, and the jawline, not far off but not quite there, as a horse owner and artist that’s what I have noticed.
