You're tutorials have helped me improve my own oil portraiture so much Yupari. You've taught me to chill out. At times I would just stare at my toned canvas for around half an hour then walk away. Fear of failure which is bizarre because I know actually painting (and failing) is the best way to learn! As a thank you, I think I'll join your Patreon. I live in Scotland so unfortunately, I'll never be able to come to your classes irl. ☹

Yupari, I have learned more from this one demonstration than in years of trying on my own. Thank you so much for this wonderful tutorial. It could not be better. You have demonstrated so much here, and I appreciate that you did it all live for us all to see and to learn from. Keep up the good work, and don't let the negative remarks effect you. You are one GREAT painter, even at your young age.

I like the finished painting. Worth noting at about 1 hour in you have a fresh dynamic likeness with the planes clearly defined. Some of the plane definition was blended away. I have found in my own work that I tend to fuss too much and end up losing spontaneity. Maybe food for thought. Keep up the great content, always interesting and enjoyable. Cheers

Hello Maestro Yupari, I am learning so much from you and l appreciate the fact that share the model throughout the entire process and you his allow us to anticipate decisions and contrasts them with yours. This keeps me totally engaged and free to intérprete decisions which are extremely valuable in learning
@celinaespaillat54714 жыл бұрын
Yupari, why do the other instructors not share the model throughout the process? That’s holding me back from subscribing with them! You are very generous with your knowledge. Thank you,

Another valuable painting lesson! And while he felt there wasn't much talking in this episode, I managed to pick up on a profound Yupari quote that I will etch into my easel...."Sometimes I let the brush explore. Just don't over-think it." Wonderful! Question, please: How do you like the performance of the Gamblin solvent-free fluid?

QUESTION-I learned a lot about portraits here. You mentioned the oil paints that are mixable with water, and that you prefer what you use, yet I have to purchase my first oil paints, so I ask for direction. I paint indoors in a normal house. No ventilation, no studio with ventilation. Will using the water mixable oils work for me? Or I ought I buy regular oil paints and open windows in the winter time? Please help.
@tproud3 жыл бұрын
You've probably figured that out by now but I was in the same situation where I wanted to try oil painting so I bought a set of watermixable oils, some mediums, etc. Then I very quickly switched to regular oils, that's how addictive they are. :0)

one more thing which i need to do more but i buy cheap brushes as i'm not a professional. you can repair your brushes by washing them in dawn and then soaking them in oil . after they soaked a bit take a damp paper towel and wrap the bristles. let it sit over night wash the brush . one more thing i could hear in your voice you were frustrated with the dog and the walking. razor headsets are expensive but great for noise canceling and they have great audio the headset is also cordless and non cordless
